Has anyone installed these themselves? Do they come with templates that ensure level placement or? Is it a DIY project? FYI, I searched the forum and found a few comments about them being installed, but no details at all. I am talking about the body colored moldings that are meant to protect the vehicle not the chrome ones that are typically mounted on the rocker panels.

It was pretty easy to install...Just got make sure you start placing them in the right place b/c it's very sticky. I think I did wrong by taking all the backing off at once though...Here's a pic of the templates that come with it. For the right side, you flip over the templates on the front and rear part, but they're blank on the back so I transferred the character lines over.

Installed mine yesterday and it was quite easy. Print out those installation instructions and follow them. When first fitting just peel the first little piece of backing off and get the long pieces started a few inches, get er lined up and carefully touch the tip of the leading edge down . You can then line up the back of each piece before pressing it down and pealing the balance of the backing off. Take your time and sit on the ground to get your eyes level with the work area.

I am going back and forth if I want to install these on my truck when I buy it. Show some pics people! Especially if you have a Lunar Silver one (hint hint).
These are actually one of the accessories that will appear virtually on the "Build It" page on Honda's website. So if you pick the color of your truck, then dig down to accessories options, select them and it will render in a couple seconds for review. Including the 360 degree view.

By looking at the location of the side molding placement they do look as if they might not do much good. I do know that it is the out most part on the door, now all you have to do is part next to another Ridgeline with molding to not get a ding, I guess Honda's engineers have determined that all vehicles are the same when it comes to body sides. My wife's new 2016 Acura RDX has the molding in the same place as the Ridgeline's are, this being said, we have no ding yet, we do park at the farthest point we can get from other vehicles, we walk a lot.

When is comes to body side molding you can maybe use a set made for the Accord or other Honda vehicle. This way you can still get the correct color, you can raise them up say 12" and they would still look fine and professionally done. You would need to fine a Honda vehicle and measure the molding to see how they would look and how they would fit on the door, that is correct spacing on each door. Being a retired body shop mgr. I have done this with other vehicles with professional results, I'm pretty picky about how things look and work, so I will see what can be done. I think from what I have seen the Accord moldings might just work, but I will have to go to the dealer and find moldings on a car, measure them, take some pics, and then photo shop then on a Ridgeline. I will work on this before my new Ridgeline comes in and post results on what I find.
