BT45 and existing mic in RTL with nav

I just ordered the BT45-HON3 for my '08 RTL with nav off Amazon.
Does anyone have this same model RL with this unit? I'm curious if the existing mic will work or if I'm going to need to run the mic that comes with the BT45.

It wont, the honda OEM mic terminates into the back of the nav unit with proprietary wiring. I have the same truck. I ended up running the BT45 mic across the rear seats (behind them). Along the driver side of the truck and under the sill plates all the way up the weather stripping in the drivers door. The mic is now sitting up on the tweeter. It doesnt echo the audio at all.
Thanks. Got the unit this morning and looking at trying to get the mic up near the nav mic. How is yours for a passenger talking with it so far left? I was thinking that would make the passenger hard to hear.

I tried a bunch of different places when I first put it in. I tried on the steering column, the center stack, and the driver visor. The OEM mic is up near the sunroof/glasses holder and I found it actually sounded better where the mic is now.

Thanks for that bit of knowledge. I got it installed yesterday and only ran the mic to the floor by the drivers seat. Took me 35 min. to install it and reassemble the back seat. Luckily I had already replaced the pulleys in the rear so I knew the process. I'll finish running the mic up near the tweeter and give that a try for a few weeks.
