Can anyone take a representative photo of Forest Mist?

25278 Views 53 Replies 22 Participants Last post by  Honda 4 Life
I've probably seen a hundred different photos of Forest Mist, and every one of them looks like a different color. It is almost like it is impossible to photograph it.

Can someone with photographic skills make some good photos? Maybe make sure white balance is correct, sun is at your back, try different exposures in manual mode? Maybe post a RAW image? Most photos I see are way too dark to bring out any color.

Nearest dealer is over an hour away, and the Forest Mist color is about as rare as hen's teeth around here....dealers all have silver, grey, black and white trucks, with an occasional red or blue one.

I've also never seen a 'Forest Mist' in person. With that said, I'm waiting on an RTL-E in 'Forest Mist' that should be delivered to the dealer next week. We're kinda doing a "Leap-of-Faith" hoping that once the RL arrives, we'll both like the color. (Fingers crossed)
It is a very hard color to take a picture of, it looks more grey than green but yet its not grey. I think that picture does good justice. Do a search od the post I have posted, I uploaded also another shot of the color, both in direct sunlight and indirect sunlight. Its a nice color, definitely different. Up until now it had been a MDX color and now it will be just a G2 color unless Honda puts it on a different vehicle.

Where are you in Central VA? I bought mine from Honda of Chantilly (just south of Dulles Airport) and they had a Forest Mist on their floor for awhile when I went in to start looking, back in Oct. It's not a bad color, but it's not "me." It's one of those colors you definitely have to see in person to determine if you like it or not, that's for sure. To me, it looks like they mixed blue, green and grey/silver to come up with it. It doesn't look bad, but it definitely wasn't for us.

Good luck! :)
I saw it for a few seconds one day as a Ridge was pulling out of a Honda dealer...it's a nice color. I would have taken that color besides the blue or dark grey.

I'm just outside of Charlottesville. The TRL-E in Forest Mist will be going to Valley Honda in Staunton. They just received a BE last week and asked me if I'd prefer that model which I passed on. No more black vehicles for me. Been there, done that, lol. If anyone is interested in that BE, as far as I know it's still available.

Yeah, all I've heard is that 'Forest Mist' is a color that you have to see in person. Pictures or videos really don't present the color accurately, so they say. We'll see,,,.....
here's an RL review showing forest mist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiO4BS9nGvs
Yep, I saw this review. I think I've watched every RL review on YouTube at this point, lol. But thanks for the thought and effort!

Cool. I was just on the Chantilly site tonight and they have a BE now, too. Had they had it the night I bought mine, I may have been VEEEEERY tempted to get it instead of the RTL-T. That saved me about $5K, huh? LOL

One of the main reason's I/we insisted on the RTL-E was the 'memory seats'. My wife and I have "completely" different seat positions. It's a real PIA to try and re-adjust the seats each time we switch drivers. :)

I get it. My wife's Accord Coupe has memory seats, so we have our own settings. She doesn't drive the RL as much, so the memory seats isn't that big of a deal for us not having it. Plus, we actually have fairly similar driving positions in the RL, but much different when driving a coupe. :)

Photos of the unicorn - in sunlight

Hello all. New member, and owner of a RTL-E Forest Mist since Aug 23 (1,200 miles so far), and loving it. In reading the forum, it sounds like I have the rare unicorn color!

Like you, I had a hard time visualizing this color. It does change hue, both in shadows & sun, as well as it gets green/gray in overcast light. I do love the color. It's also a metal flake with clearcoat (like many other Honda colors), so it looks even better up close.

The first 3 photos below show the color in bright sunlight. Here you can definitely see the green color.

Photos of the unicorn (in shade & overcast)

In shade and overcast, the Forest Mist color changes.

In the first photo below taken in bright sunlight, you can see how the shadows cast by our tree make the color turn dark.

In the second photo below on an overcast day, you can see how the color turns to a gray/green. By the way, that's our 3,400 lb boat that I tow with my truck. It handles that great (I'll post more on the trailer thread). Thank you

Forest Mist next to Modern Steel Metallic

The photo below shows my Forest Mist Metallic on the left, and on the right is a Modern Steel Metallic. I took this photo at my dealership before I bought my truck. It's interesting in that I first thought the Forest Mist looked like the later (in cloudy light), until the sun broke through and you can see the color differences pictured below. Both colors are nice - it's personal preference.

Those photos above are the best representation of the 'Forest Mist' I've seen so far. The one that was reserved for us just arrived at the dealership late today. We'll be going to see it in person on Friday.

Forest Mist - interior photos

Last pictures I'll post in this thread - pictures of the Forest Mist's interior. Forest Mist is only available with their Wisteria Gray interior color (leather on this RTL-E trim) though in the warm summer afternoon sunlight when I took these photos, it looks a little like the Shadow Beige.

I like the two tone interior, it looks nice with this outside color.

Damnit! I had my mind made up I was getting a White RTL-E whenever I decide to trade in my 2012 RTL for a 2017+! Now I'm thinking about the Forest Green. :)
