I have an 06 with Nav. I hardly use the CD player. The truck only has 74k miles on it. I inserted 3 CDs to listen to some music and the CD player is skipping/pausing on all 3 CDs. I was wondering if this is something that can be repaired or should I see if anyone makes a replacement?

If you have replaced the CD player in a Nav equipped truck please chime in and let me know what you installed and if you like it.

Thanks, Larry
First things first.... try a new CD to make sure the ones you are using are not to blame.
Otherwise..... just changing out that drive can be tough sledding w/o paying a butt load of cash. There's another thread currently asking similar question.
Others would have to comment on potential repairs.... I don't have info there.... but I wouldn't hold my breath. Maybe look for a used unit (entire head unit) on eBay or Craigs List or ??? (maybe search for threads here as well...trading post category)
I'm guessing if it comes to replacing that unit, you'll be better of with an aftermarket upgrade.

My CD player has been skipping, and pausing since I owned the vehicle, I took the truck back to the Honda dealer numerous times and every time I took it back they said it was the CD's I was playing, I informed them that I have used new store bought CD's , copies of other cd's etc, played them in my wifes car, actually both of her cars, and on my stereo in my house, I never had any issues, they still insisted that it was the cd's, obviously the truck is out of warranty now and they won't even talk to me about it anymore, they just tell me to buy a new cd player. This is one thing I can say I am not happy about with this truck.
Here/s what I'd be thinking Davedad.... IF you have record at the dealer that you took it in & they 'rejected' your service request..... and now they won't talk to you, you need to ask to kick this upstairs... ask for an appointment with the regional service guy. The key is that you took it in & they recorded your issue (usually on the first page of service order... "customer reports CD player skipping & pausing".... something like that). If you have that (look for your own paperwork, but they will also have it in your records there), then I'd say you're in good shape to get a "good will" warranty repair, even though you are now out of the warranty period. The regional guy does not represent the dealer & he will want you to be satisfied with Honda. I'll bet you they'll come through for you.

FYI, I had a trunk mounted "accessories" CD player put in my S2000 when I boutht it new, & it just skipped anytime I hit even the smallest bump. They replaced it with a new one w/o question & it's been good every since (2005 S2K). Sometimes it just depends on who you're dealing with, unfortunately. Try the regional guy... I don't think you'll be sorry you did. Make sure you're polite but very disappointed in Honda that they did not fix it when you first brought it in, and think they should make it right..... that would be my approach.

One more last ditch suggestion for you Larry..... Surprisingly, there are still a few guys out there who are making a living repairing electronics like this. Try to search to see if you have one of these tech nuts doing business around you some where..... it's possible they may be able to identify a fairly simple problem that they can fix for you with little effort (if you're lucky). Considering your alternatives, it can't hurt to take a little time to research this possibility.

Davedad.... be sure to check out the very pertinent link provided by schwejo in the above post; a Honda Service Bulletin addressed a problem with the CD drives skipping. Put that together with your history of complaint while under warranty.... will bolster your case with regional guy.
