how do you remove the center console top to get at the cover? like how do you slide it off to get at the screws? 2014 ridge... I can get at 6 torx but that does not let me remove the top to get at the covering. wondering if I can move around the padding as the back edge has gotten unsoft.

actually I am talking only about the padded flip top on the top of all that that slides back and forth. How do you remove that, and get it apart to adjust the fabric covering? THANK YOU for responding to my question!!!!!
that shows how to remove the sliding top by unscrewing it from the assembly that is in the center of the truck. All I want to do is remove the sliding top from the part that is attached with the hinge. there is some way to allow the sliding top to slide all the way off so I can get to ALL the screws on it to take apart the very top that holds the fabric onto the very top....

I believe you meant the padded section that is also an armrest? Sometimes its very helpful to just snap a picture or indicate it on a diagram. Sorry I am not much of a help to your request.
Watch this video and save yourself a LOT of time on this little job. I'm an old guy so I like to save time every chance I get. Using this method saved ton's of disassembly and reassembly time over the method discussed in the thread here. The only drawback was 2 cracked ribs....nah, just kidding!! Take a look.
