I'll be 80 this year and my goal is to replace all my ice equipment here on our 3-1/2 acre patch. So far so good. Next week I will be talking about replacing our Honda emergency generator with a wall mounted battery pack. That will be the end of everything gasoline except this Ridge. Well, the Ridge will be replaced this year with the R1T I have on order. I do have a propane coffee roaster and a mosquito magnet that run on propane. (I can't see replacing them anytime soon). Okay, I do still have a diesel farm tractor, but I have been looking at EVs there too. Errr, well we do bicycle frequently, but we still use the conventional bicycles. Then there's the kayaks. It will be nice to not have any ice around. (Never too old to learn).

I have an empty spot in my garage with a newly installed Rivian 60 AMP charger that is just waiting for my compass yellow R1T.
Now, that's getting the cart before horse!

How much is Rivian's 60 48-amp charger?

Tesla's Wall Connector was $350 when I ordered on Friday, but has since increased to $425. I'll probably use their $230 Mobile Connector which is portable and allows charging anywhere using any 120-volt or 240-volt outlet. My BIL ordered the Wall Connector and will probably pay an electrician hundreds extra to install it whereas I have the capability to self-install.

The Model Y also increased $500 disqualifying many configurations from getting the $7,500 tax credit.

I suspect Tesla is dealing with a monumental rush of Model Y orders from tens of thousands of people like me who had been sitting on the fence for years and were pushed over the edge by the major price drop and tax credit.
Ah, well, since I had an electrician here, I ordered mine online and had him install it. I paid Rivian $800 for this one but 2 years ago I reserved one for $500. So, Rivian and I have some negotiation on that front. (Mine is wired to accommodate 100 AMPs if it is ever a possibility to grow to that size. All it would take is a 100 AMP breaker to replace the 60).
