Cooled seats on BE

I've was riding shotgun in my BE RL the other day and had the seat cooler turned on.

I noticed cool air on both the seat bottom and the seat back... The driver's seat only cools the bottom.

Is this normal or will it require a trip to the dealer??

I'm unable to answer this Canadian-specific question, but I wonder if there is enough room for air ducts in the driver's seatback given the presence of the lumbar mechanism, which doesn't exist on the passenger's side.

This reminds me of several years' worth of Honda/Acura models (including the first generation Ridgeline) that lacked heated passenger seatbacks due to the presence of airbag-related components.

Considering how Honda seems to be handling options, I'd say that part of the cooled seats isn't available in Canada. Perhaps it's an Australian Honda option only.

Well, I'll let you know when I find out... it's the time of year when I'll start using the heated seats not cooled seats so it isn't a huge issue.
The illustration in the owner's manual depicts both seat bottoms and seat backs are heated and ventilated. There is no statement or illustration that excludes either seat bottom or seat back as being non-ventilated. I would expect both seat bottoms and seat backs to be ventilated.
Right... The owners manual. Doh, why didn't I think of that?

Thanks zroger
Just tested mine to answer your question...

My driver side does work ..but...

for the back portion...you can only feel on the 2 sides and lower back portion ( Plus seat of course )...middle & upper back...nothing.

I guess zroger73's theory is correct... driver side lumbar have mechanical stuff back there.
I know the G1 RL only heated the bottom passenger seat not the back, because of the airbag sensors in the back. So, there may be something in there that prevents the cooling on the G2...
