Creaking sound when turning the wheel

I suddenly developed a sound when i turn the wheel either left or right. Same sound, pitch etc. It sounds like an old door creaking open when at low speed. I have a video but Can't seem to load it. Any help or direction to a discussion already here would be appreciated. Thanks.

Here's a couple, Mine only does it when it's cold (below freezing?) and that's just not often enough for me to worry about.

Good Luck
Did you find out what it was? I have the same sound that just came out of nowhere yesterday on the driver's front. Seems to be getting a bit louder. Doesn't seem to be affected by bumps, only steering inputs. It's not a groaning sound like a power steering pump that's failing or low on fluid, more of a creaking door like the OP mentioned.

I had a bad ball joint on my 88 Prelude, but that made a hollow popping sound over certain bumps, not noise when steering.
I also am getting a noise when turning my steering wheel, I found this on this group about replacing an O-ring on the power steering pump. Was wondering what you found.

I also got this is issue on my 06 RL. Mine is more of a clunking sound and I can feel it in my pedals. Usually happens when i accelerate from a dead stop or turn at a low speed. I took it to Jack Williams Auto shop by me. They herd the sound but couldn't find the issue. They said everything looks good underneath but possibly its's something with the transfer case.
???
Ill try the o ring repair to see if that helps. Thanks for the video!

UPDATE: Brought my truck to a honda dealership to look at the problem. They found that the wrong engine mounts were installed on the truck. I was told by the tech that the ones I had on were to be used with a vacuum hook up of some kind, which is the wrong kind.??? Good thing I have an extended warranty. Bill came out to be around $350 part/labor. I only paid $100 deductible. :) Noise went away!!
I had a similar problem recently. Initially I thought it was coming from the front wheels but eventually changed my VTM fluid and that solved it. I have a thread on here called Noisy Growl ... that you may want to review. I can't figure out how to link it from my phone right now.
Looks like my steering rack is leaking, a fair amount of $$$ to replace. Honda must use solid gold tie rod ends in the rack.
Replaced steering rack and tie rods and control arms $2100 ouch, we'll see if that works on the problem.

Yikes! Is that just parts??
No that's the rack, tie rods, control arms a, power steering fluid flush and labour. The labour was over 7 hours(at both Honda and where I took it).

The rack was net around 350(including the core return). Honda wanted over 1100 just for the rack.

Well after all that cash, it still makes the noise. Can't complain to the place that replaced the parts since I told them to do it after the Honda dealer told me that was the problem(they were really expensive) back to the drawing board I guess. OK until it warms up.
That's crummy, Bill. I just replaced the LCA on the driver's side and my truck is still creaking. I haven't seen any leaks though. The boot around the ball joint appeared to have a small crack and I had a disintegrated bushing on the LCA that needed to be replaced anyway.

I need to have someone turn the wheel while I listen for the creak. I'm thinking outer tie rod next, but that's just a guess at this point.

Sorry to hear the problem is still there. I had a similar issue with our 2006 Honda Pilot and it was driving me crazy. It ended up being the lower ball joint on the passenger side that had a small tear in the rubber boot. Water was getting in causing the noise. I'm assuming when they replaced the lower control arm, they replace the entire unit with new ball joint? Good Luck
May still be the steering rack, was driving yesterday and the truck started making noise all the time, pop the hood and the power steering pump is noisey, check fluid level and its low(I know pumps make noise when low). So take it back to the shop , rack is leaking, get another new one under warranty.

I have heard that the creaking noise can be from the system sucking air so maybe this leaking rack is the problem , because it was quiet for a few days. Time will tell they should finish it Monday.

Also getting the stabilizer bar busshings and links changed.
Update, only put 5 miles or so on the truck so far, but no noise yet and it was a fairly warm day when the noise usually happened. The stabilizer bar and link replacement fixed the clunking. Got a break on the stabilizer bar stuff, the labour was going to be 5-6 hours but the mechanic said since the steering rack was coming out the labour would be around 2 hours(still pricey but better). So the total for the front end is $2500 canadian so far.

I'll drive a bit this week and update.
Last update couple of hundred miles or so and over a week since I got the work done, front end is super quiet and smooth, appears the creaking was the steering rack leaking and the clunk was the stabilizer bar. Crossing my fingers that this continues this way.
