Original dealership is the one that said they could not do anything. The second dealership i went to upgraded my vehicle but it cost 10,000 extra. Which i paid so i could get what i suppose have got at a cost.
I would guess that you paid exactly what that dealer wanted for that trim level. You stated in your OP that you "trusted Honda". This error has nothing to do with Honda. It's truly on you. Could they have done something, sure, but the dealer wasn't obligated. If I had 10K in disposable income I think I would have spent it a little differently.

Man you really wanted those parking sensors. What trim level was the first vehicle? How much of the $10K delta was loss on the first vehicle?

I believe you hit the nail right on the head here, zroger73:

I have a very strong suspicion this is a spammer - the signs are there, but I'm willing to eat crow if I'm wrong. :)
Your story is almost too incredible to be believed.
If this guy is not just playing this forum, well...........................................................I'll keep this polite while thinking about PT Barnum.

I had walked out of the first dealership with a 14000 balance left to pay after my trade in of a 2017 chevycrewcab i had also put 3000 down. To make it 14,000 then when i traded in the 22ridgeline rtl and bought the 22 rtl-e my balance didnt drop but 400 dollars and i gave the second dealership 10,000 on top of it all. To say the least shouldn't of bought the rtl.and i had thought it had the sensors on it like he said. But in the long run it cost me a bunch more of money. When i returned it it had 35 miles. And he refused to do anything. Sorry for the long post!!!

You bought a new vehicle. You brought back a used vehicle. Depreciation. Not a good time for desperation. After they crunched the numbers for your E why’d you buy it? Young and inexperienced in life? You need to confide and trust an older person. Parent, sibling, uncle, aunt..NOT anyone that sells cars or works in a dealership. You could of even come here and gotten solid advice. We’re really all here to help each other.
The dealer just did what all car dealers do. Got as much money out of you as possible and you didn’t even put up a fight. Then ya come here whining about it. Entitled much?
Maybe your a troll, but maybe some young lion reads your post and learns a lesson before they pay 60k for 40k truck.

agree with @zroger73 ... Also, its pretty clear what trim levels have (and dont have) for the big meaningful features. this is silliness. "i want to return this condo because it doesnt have a back yard". give me a break. i wish the OP and the dealer good luck in their future relationship together.

This has to be fake... You can get parking sensors to add onto the truck for less than $500. To throw an additional $10K is just insane. I'm not trying to be mean but that seems like a major miscalculation on the OP's part... No car is perfect or has every feature you'd like... but you can find you can add a lot of things with a simple google search.

Purchased a 2022 honda ridgeline was told it had parking sensors upon arriving home later at night noticed it did not have. Went back to current dealership early next morning address my concerns. Was told he misunderstood what i was asking and when i asked about returning it to get the rtl-e package he said a deal is a deal he couldn't do anything for me.so i went to another dealership to address the issue ending up getting the rtl-e package but the trade ended up costing me a additional 10,000 dollars. Do anyone feel like i have a case with honda to possibly getting this money refunded back to me. I had done what i thought was right and went back less then 24 hours later from the original purchase. And to be put in this situation is beyond my beliefs i trusted honda. Please reach out to me. God bless
1 - You did not trust Honda, you trusted the salesman. it is a high turnover industry and while there are some that are honest and know what they are selling; others would struggle finding the battery... True story, when looking at an XV90 the dealer could not find the battery; to this day no idea where it is.

2 - Only remote chance to have any recourse is if there is documentation proving your case; I tend to trust salesman as far as I can throw them and look at the website before and/or after shopping. Another trick, sort of futile at this point, is throw them a technical question that is not part of the typical pitch; most have no clue and ask their manager; a few actually know something.

I recall when looking at an Explorer; unhappy with the base stereo; asked about having the better one installed; was told flat out NO... Because someone a few months ago had the same request and so the salesman added the head unit to the "We Owe / You Owe" to close the deal that day. Dealer comes to find out you can't upgrade the head units; took a blood bath since they had to upgrade him. Without anything in writing you are banking on the salesman's word; and odds are they may not be there anymore.
