Decoding fluid codes/dates

700 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Jonb
I just ordered & received all the fluids for my yearly maintenance on the Ridge and I got some brake fluid as well. While checking out my order I noticed that the brake fluid code reads AR110304. If I had to guess I'd say it was manufactured in April 2011 but not sure. If it was made in 2011 I prob don't want to use it. Does anyone know how to decode these manufacturing codes for Honda fluids?

If its sealed I would not be concerned about it.
Okay doesn't mater how old the fluid is if its sealed it good? My understanding is that brake fluid is only good for 3 years I'm assuming that's unsealed container.

Yes it will be fine if it's sealed. Oxygen, heat and contamination are big three that degrade oil and fluids. If it's sealed it has not seen any of those and is still perfectly good oil/fluid.
