Just got back from the old stealership. Put $1k down on a RTL-E that is part of their first allocation. The truck is scheduled to be built in June. Silver with Black interior. I wanted the RTL-T, but they were getting 3 RT 2wd, 1 RTL-E and 1 Black edition with no news on when the next allocation is. They said they are not able to order/request specific models at this time. I have a Honda lease up in June, so instead of going without a car or rolling the dice on the 2nd allocation, I went ahead and put the money down on the RTL-E.

Any one else know they have a G2 on its way?

No deposit but you are buying the exact RL that I will probably end up with. Don't think I will buy before July unless my Pilot calls in quits before then.

I had a 2009 RL up until Summer of 2013. Traded it in for a Civic Si 4dr mainly due to gas mileage and just not quite enough power. I ended up regretting it after about a year. I'm also not driving as much now, my 2013 civic has just under 19k miles so gas cost really makes no difference to me now.Two friends of mine (out of state unfortunately) bought Gen1 RLs after me which have only made my regret worse. So now I get to rectify the situation.

I've been on celica forums, bmwforums (think they changed to bimmerwerkz haven't had a BMW in years), etc. over the years. Never joined the RL forums my last go around, been lurking the last year or so as rumors have gathered. Figured I might as well sign up and participate at this point.

If you would had asked me a week ago, I'd say "yes I'm putting money down!" BUT since I learned that I can't get everything I want unless it's all wheel drive sucks.

You mean they're not going to make a 2 wheel drive that is fully loaded out with the Premium audio and in bed system? And I can't even get a white with any interior but beige? Ridiculous Honda!

I've been in contact with a self proclaimed "honda nerd" at the local dealer for couple weeks now. I plan to stop in tomorrow or Saturday to verify if 1 of the 6 due in June/July meets my needs. If so I'll put money on it. If not I'll be ordering first day it's an option. Not to sure what sort of discounts off MSRP to expect. Hoping for around $3k off.

3K off? I would be surprised to see any discounts to be honest. I hope that you're right, but I bet people will be paying close to full price at the beginning -- which is why I might wait 3 or 4 months before stepping in to buy . . .

I think 3k out of the gate is being overly optimistic. Heck, if I could get a $42,270 RTL-E down to 40k, I would be thrilled. Maybe in Dec.....

I can't decide on RTL-E or -T.. but if I can get an RTL-E out the door with tax, etc for less than 43 I'm probably sold.

If you can get about 2K off then you are doing well many people actually struggle and get less. The margins are low with Honda as are other import companies. Even though they are manufactured in the USA go figure. Its always been that way since I can remember. When my wife purchased her new 2006 Civic SiG it was about 2K off after haggling and doing the walk away method. Ok Ok sir... please sit down let me talk to my manager. Wait and wait then its sorry we can do 1200.00 up and out of the chair walk away, calls back later to say 1800.00. Its brutal sometimes.

They did not have the final price. When it comes they'll call me and we'll work the deal. I've got first right of refusal. I should have a good trade with my civic. $500 customer loyalty and I believe up to $1500 from the Honda lease program. I'll do a thousand on top of that. So if out the door I'm back around MSRP I'll probably take it. Sales tax is 5% here. Hoping delivery is $1k or less. If not, maybe a pilot for me.
