Navigation - blank screen

Started the truck this morning and the NAV screen was completely blank. Could not get anything to appear regardless of which selections I made on the touchscreen. After about 5 minutes, got a message that said the Garmin system was not responding. Pulled into a parking lot, turned the truck off and then started it. NAV came up fine and worked after that. First issue I have seen with the unit.

Sorry they can not solve.Next week will
be my turn same diagnosis. But a new unit to come to Uruguay will take months.
UPDATE: After a 2 hour wait at the local Stealership they did not tell me anything I did not already know.......need to replace the head unit. Another week of "no shoes, no shirt, no service" ;-) No radio, no BT, no phone, no GPS, no Hondalink, etc.
Re: Touchscreen not working Ridgeline 2017

I hope you do not have to wait months! I have received car parts from China in 3 days to US so make them expedite. Fed-X is everywhere.
Re: Touchscreen not working Ridgeline 2017

Honda Uruguay only official service in the country is closed all week due to Semana Santa Holiday.
Hope they can fix quickly the touchscreen problem next Monday 17...?
Only 3 or 5 Ridgeline G2 in the market.
Enjoy

You can have any trim you want in Uruguay as long as it's an RTL-T AWD!!! According to their website that's the only trim available there.

Another baffling decision by some people at Honda, I guess. :surprise:
Re: Touchscreen not working Ridgeline 2017

I wonder if they got a big boy horn and power folding mirrors??? ETC.
Re: Touchscreen not working Ridgeline 2017

Spent a lot of time on the short bus did ya? Here ya go - you're never to old to learn, right? >:)

In the Paleozoic and Early Mesozoic eras, South America and Africa were connected in a landmass called Gondwana, as part of the supercontinent Pangaea. In the Albian, around 110 Ma, South America and Africa began to diverge along the southern Mid-Atlantic Ridge, giving rise to a landmass of Antarctica and South America. During the late Eocene, around 35 Ma, Antarctica and South America separated and South America became a massive, biologically rich island-continent. During approximately 30 million years, the biodiversity of South America was isolated from the rest of the world, leading to evolution of species within the continent.

In the last million years since the Late Miocene, South America became connected with the continent of North America via the Panama Block that closed the marine Bolivar Trough, leading to the Great American Interchange, the interchange of biota from both continents.

The first species discovered to have made the northward migration was Pliometanastes, a fossil ground sloth species, roughly the size of a modern black bear. Several migrations to the Southern Hemisphere were undertaken by tougher, North American mammal carnivores; fewer species migrated in the opposite direction from south to north. The result of the intrusion of North American fauna was that hundreds of South American species became extinct in a relatively short time and that about 60% of present-day South American mammals have evolved from North American species.[3] However, some species were able to adapt and spread into North America. Apart from Pliometanastes, during the Irvingtonian stage of the mammal land stages, around 1.9 Ma, species as Pampatherium, a giant armadillo, ground sloth Megatherium, giant anteater Myrmecophaga, a Neogene capybara (Hydrochoerus), Meizonyx, opossum Didelphis, and Mixotoxodon followed the route north.[4] The terror bird Titanis was the only discovered South American carnivore species who made the journey into North America.:laugh:>:)
OMG! First I find out there's a South America, and now I find out that people can copy-n-paste.
I'm swooning and my heart's all a flutter.

Your original comment made me laugh, man... just wanna say that. (just a quip on the fact that someone felt they had to say it was South America). Some folks just don't read humor the same way. ...and I think perhaps he was replying in a way "he" thought was humorous, as well.

Everything is so eff'n funny these days!! :) I don't know if it's funny or not, yet... but I'm trying to figure out if it's funny that the Uruguay RLT-T has a shark fin antenna in the photo. I thought the GPS antennas are in another spot (and tailgate). If you look at some SPORTS, there is no Shark Fin. Like this photo of an American RTL-T (oops North American)... it has no shark fin.

It doesn't take a whole lot to amuse me... I'll admit that.

If you look at the pictures on the original link posted for the Uruguay dealer, note it doesn't have heated seat switches, but it does have a sliding rear window and moon roof. The switches are present for both as well. Though the exterior picture doesn't show the moon roof, the interior one does. You can see the shark fin on those pictures as well. It also says they have LED headlights.

So looks more like a hybrid of trims as well, just like the Canadian models.

What? No heated seats in Uruguay? But they gave cooling seats to the Great White North. I spotted "some" of that (missed the LEDs). But in my mind I was wondering, what the heck is under the Shark fin then. The XM birds don't migrate that far South.

Looks like I did pretty good from those poor website pictures :nerd:

Seeing more hybrid... some features available only on the US E and Canadian Touring, but doesn't have the chrome door handles of those trims. And of all places to not have cooled seats... :crying:

But hey... you get to order your new infotainment system this week
Re: Touchscreen not working Ridgeline 2017

We ALL have the shark fin antenna...don't we ??

I've checked out some vids and pics and the RTL-T does have it...your picture link is just at a bad angle to see the roof area.

I guess you're right. I wasn't sure what the fin was for. If it was just Satellite Radio or FM too. BAH! I thought I found something interesting. Foiled.
Re: Touchscreen not working Ridgeline 2017

Hello. Any update for your black touchscreen same problem? Here still with 100 miles, unmotivated to use a 65k (Uruguayan market price USD) without audio, telephone and navigation system. For my good luck, only Honda Service in the country is closed until Tuesday 18th.
:surprise:
Hi everybody! Just registered and this is my first post.

Bought my 17 Ridgeline 3 months and the truck is awesome. But unfortunately i encountered my first problem. My radio kept glitching. It would freeze up occasionally where i would have to turn off the truck and then back on to get it to work. Also the volume would randomly go up or down with my hands no where near the steering wheel controls, and also i had major malfunctions synching my phone. Finally the Display went totally black and never came back on. no Radio,no backup camera, and the compass went out on my gauge display. My Ridgeline went in Saturday and the Honda tech said it would need to be replaced. They were nice enough to give me a 17 Civic loner till mine is fixed (not so comfortable in the Civic, too small). I am extremely lucky the display went completely out so this hopefully won't be a repetitive problem in the future. The tech said my Ridgeline is the first one to have this problem. I will be glad when i get it back.

Hate when something goes out on a brand new car......but these things are half computers now. Yes, good thing it failed completely. I hate that phrase, "Could not duplicate the problem".
Sounds like a one time deal. They will replace it and you will be good to go. Glad they diagnosed it as needing replaced right away, so you did not have to suffer with it limping along.

Glad you like your G2. What trim level is it?
White RTLE.
I like others wanted the Honda sensing features which were only available on the higher trim packages.
