i dont have a volt meter but starting to think i should get one. how much do they run?Do you have a Voltmeter or Multimeter?
Hook up the Red and Black leads of the meter to each wire.
If you get a positive voltage reading then the Wire on the red lead is positive and wire on the Black lead is negative.
If you get a negative voltage reading then the Wire on the red lead is negative and wire on the Black lead is positive.
Hope this helps.
never got a chance to pull out the door, hell i still got the LED bulbs for the light in the door, thanks for the info, i will hopefully be able to try it this weekendHey rakapur, did you ever figure the wiring out? If not, the 2-tone blue and white wires are the positive.
I just added a strip to the front doors and changed out the oem door lights. I will be adding the second set in the next day or two.
The picture is not real good, but you get an idea of the lighting.

Yes I did. In fact, I changed all of the cab interior except for the gauges and changed out the cargo and bed lights with leds.Did you change the door light with an LED?
Hopefully you will have decent weather!! I don't think it should snow any more this week!! hehe:act024:never got a chance to pull out the door, hell i still got the LED bulbs for the light in the door, thanks for the info, i will hopefully be able to try it this weekend
You are correct. An LED is still technically a Diode which is a device that will only let current travel in one direction. So if you put it in backwards it would not light up. If I remember right, you can damage one backwards if the rated voltage is too high. Of course it would cook it the correct way too!:act006:Take it with a grain of salt, but I've read that you won't hurt the LEDs by wiring them backwards for a short period of time. Obviously if they don't light up, switch the wires.
ahhh, i remember the smell of that blue smoke of death in electronics class in schoolYou are correct. Got the back doors finished this week. So now all four are rigged up with the LED strips and leds in the doors.
Good one!! Check post #5 for the front. Later tonight I will get pics of both front and back:act024:and the obligatory pictures???
that's a cool mod...:act035:
Thank you...been wanting to get them done for a while now.that's a cool mod...:act035:
did, now how is it positioned to the cubby cover?....Thank you...been wanting to get them done for a while now.
Btw, did you happen to notice the cubby area in the second pic? Did that one just after installing my custom cubby from 5S about a year ago.:act024:
The led strip is actually mounted on the top side of the cubby not the cover.did, now how is it positioned to the cubby cover?....
