How do both differentials end up at a common ratio when the Front Differential ratio is 4.533 yet the Rear Differential is 3.384 after passing through the transfer case at a ratio of .537?

Irrelevant but peripherally of interest:
Auto Transmission ratio's:
1st = 2.693
2nd = 1.566
3rd = 1.023
4th = .729
5th = .531

And depending on what year you have, the ratios could differ as below:

To the best of my knowledge, the tranny ratios are the same for 2006-2008 and the change in 2009 is good going forward.


And hey, it's a mystery to me too.
