Break-in oil remains a popular myth. The only difference between regular oil and factory fill is... nil. That being said, moly from the assembly process does get into the oil and quickly turns it dark. But leave it in until time to change.

This seems to be the place to ask the question. Does Gen II have a NON Maintenance Minder schedule for maintenance as did the Gen I?
Actually, the G1 RL did not have a maintenance schedule other than the MM. Joe dug up a generic schedule for those who really wanted a schedule. I don't know, but it may have been the same schedule my 2004 Pilot had. The MM was introduced for the 2006 Pilot and the 2006 RL (first MY). My '06 Pilot has it and it confused the heck out of me initially (coming from a 2004 Pilot). I looked all over for a schedule!

My personal observation is that the schedules that float around here tend to be a bit more conservative than the MM. The normal service schedule puts time limits as well as mileage on the TB (7 years) while the MM just runs until it miles out, I believe. The schedule also has more frequent VTM-4 changes too, with a change at 15k, 30k, then every 30k. The MM calls for a VTM-4 change at the OCI prior to reaching 15k miles, then every 30k thereafter, iirc.

I don't know if it's safe to assume the G2 RL MM works similarly or not. But I imagine it does.

I'd like to see the MM portion of the GW RL.
