Hi Guys, where can I find a Flip key for my 2014 Ridgeline? I hate that Long Key in my pocket. Also if I find one where do I get it cut?
Thanks

I'm still waiting to get flip key fobs for my 2014. You will see in the thread posted by Carsmak (post 351), that I was told the '14 key was different to the earlier years and couldn't be used with the '07 TL fob. I don't believe that and will update the forum when I find out. Should it be true that the '14 key has a different immobilizer there is another option, if you don't mind cutting open your current keys.

I did a search on ebay and other places, found several of them but they All say not compatible for 2014 Ridgeline. Surely some one sells one that will work!!

I did a flip key on my '13 following the directions here and it was an easy project. Bought the fob on Amazon for $15, transferred the chip from the old one over and fixed it in place using a dot of glue, and then had the new key laser cut at the dealer for another $15. It works great. Don't know about the keys on the '14, but hard to imagine they're any different.

I dont know how you got the dealer to charge you $15 to cut your key, but my local dealer is charging me $200.00.

Usually programming is where the cost comes in. Cutting is the easy part. Sounds like he used the guts from his stock key in his flip key housing, so no programming required.

Amen to that! Plus the dealer may not want to program a key not purchased from them(~$60 in CT) , and a locksmith will want/need to charge you for their time, even if your RL wont accept the key's transponder. I just went through this with an aftermarket key that was advertised on Amazon. The seller refunded my $15, but I am still out $72 for failed transponder programming and key cutting.

Yep I took the Chip out of one of my Stock Keys, put it in the Flip with a little Hot Glue and away we go, carried to the Honda Dealer and they Cut the Key. Works like a Champ!!!
