Says it works by filtering a small portion of the oil..maybe it bypasses half the oil and extends life
The purpose of a filter is to remove particles from the oil so they don't damage the engine. Only filtering half the oil means that half of the particles will get through. That's bad for the engine.

Seems interesting and probably worth the money if it works but I will let some UOA come back before I were to try it.

FAQs - microGreen Oil Filters

Q: How is this new filter different than the one I currently have in my vehicle?

A: The microGreen® oil filter has 2 filters inside the standard canister. The second filter is a patented microfilter that captures particles down to 2 microns in size (standard filters only capture particles down to 25-40 microns in size). This allows for the oil to stay cleaner longer and therefore allows you to extend your service intervals (click on the "find your filter" button at the top of the page for exact details).

Seems these filters have actually been around for awhile, seen a few post on bobistheoilguy.com from back in 09. Clearly there is a reason they have not caught on by now.
