it sounds even better when you dont floor it and just give it a little extra from a stop its a slower deeper growl.. love it!

I love this on exit ramps !! especially ones with walls on your right side. ! >:)

There is this one particular ramp ( multi highway connections )...as soon as I exit it..there is an overpass..naturally, I'm below growling all the way through the underpass ! >:):grin:

I love how you really can hear when VTEC kicks in.

To those who have installed it, still no codes or check engine lights? For some reason the AEM on my Prelude would throw a code causing the check engine light to come on.

AEM 1-4007 is a wrap thats made for the filter to prevent water/dust particles from getting into the filter, anyone get one of these?

I'm thinking about getting one just to be safe, rained real hard the other day and made me wonder if water can get in through the grill scoop?
Also, I'm noticing a high pitch whistle at highway speeds when i have cruise control on, its annoying and i've never had intakes whistle all the time at constant highway speeds like that, only when accelerating. Anyone else have that?

I'm thinking i will:
- Possibly get the dryflow wrap to see if that helps
- Take off the filter and clean it
- Make sure none of the fins are bent and causing whistles
- Make sure the pipe clamps are tight

anyone else getting excessive whistle?

I did notice a couple bent filter ribs/fins when i unboxed the filter initially but didnt fix it so im thinking that might be causing it.

I wouldn't be concerned about that. When I had one on my Prelude it was located real low to the ground and also inside of the fender in between the front fender and wheel well. The pipe itself was cut in 2 and a foam insert was in place to drop out any water that might have been sucked up. Unless the filter is in a location that is subject to getting dipped into a puddle, which the Ridgelines is not, I wouldn't be concerned with that. I had a K&N filter on my Element that was just in the engine bay, much like AEM intake for the Ridge and I never had any problems in over 80K miles with that.

That product will aid in keeping the filter clean, but I think $30 can be spent elsewhere. Just my .02 based on my past experiences.

Don't waste your $$$ ...if it rain so hard that glob of water can get through the scoop to drench the filter ( impossible unless submerged..which is self explanatory )...therefore, a splash from outside will only result as sprinkle or 2 on the filter ( if that !! )

...it's an open design, not invincible, but tough nonetheless. :|

That "vortex" of air I'd mentioned in an earlier post would have whisk them water away from the filter anyway..:laugh: >:)

Oh yeah...and don't forget about avoiding high pressure direct spray into the scoop when car washing !! :|:nerd:

have you tried "rotating" the thing ?? 0:)

It will give you more possibilities to redirect airflow ...rotating "the" particular causing fin(s) away from the incoming scoop.

I'm not ready to take the plunge on this yet, but I wish they would make their filter for the stock intake. I see they do this for other vehicles , but they informed me they had no plans to do this for the Ridgeline or pilot.
So my intake finally arrived! Putting it in now.
EDIT: Nevermind, you edited your post.
Sorry to bump this post, but can someone describe how the sound is after the VTEC crossover? With the intake on mine, it is rattle-y and mechanical, but not in a good way. It doesn't sound like it should unless I am missing something. I had a Takeda intake on my 2013 Accord V6 and it didn't sound like this.

Everything seems tightened down correctly.
Yea not that it sounds bad but the VTEC crossover is a bit on the mechanical sounding side for sure, the rest of the spectrum sounds great i think... i dont hit VTEC too often, but when i do i can hear it turn for sure :D
There are a couple videos on this thread that have the sound. I understand what you mean by mechanical, but I don't think it's bad, It's just asking for an exhaust.
Fellas, we are working on our own intake for this truck. If you want to save some money, you may want to wait for this one...

can you give details? do you feel yours will be more optimal, less whistle? can you give any info on how it might be different? do you feel the current AEM intake isnt the best solution?
