Getting Power Steering Rack replaced after 1000 miles

Wanted to get some opinions here:
My power steering fluid was leaking. Took it to the dealer. They discovered that the power steering rack needed to be replaced. Man - I only have 1000 miles on on RL. This isn't a Ford or some other american vehicle, this is a HONDA!

To be honest, I'm a little nervous about what I perceive to be a pretty big repair. Is this really a big deal and/or what should I be looking for or checking on their repair work?

Any thoughts???

Mine was replaced about 2 months ago. Same thing. They cleaned everything including my driveway.

Once in a while, something will break, even on a Honda.
So don't worry about it. Get it replaced and keep driving.
I just went in for an oil change and found out that I need:
Steeering Rack
Torque Convertor seal
Blower Motor

I only have 103,000 miles on it. I an seriously looking at going back to a domestic auto.

Wow.... Your driveway must be a mess.

It sounds like a dealership that came up with that list, I'm thinking....

IIRC, the blower motor was the subject of a Honda recall. You need another dealer!:act035:
Yep. Get a second opinion.

Blower motor is covered by the recall.
Steering rack failures are very rare (first post was from 2005...)
Rear main seal (unlikely it's the torque converter seal) does rarely happen.
