I have been driving my 2015 RL for about a week now and it's great! But, my one complaint is the forward angle of the head restraints. It's not unique to the RL- seems all newer vehicles share this trait. I also did a search and see where some others complained about it.

My question is this- if I purchased an aftermarket head restraint with built-in DVD player for the kids, would that make the active headrest system not work? Seems like perhaps I could kill 2 birds with one stone but don't want to do something unsafe.

I'm not sure about the aftermarket option, but you can mitigate the current discomfort by just tilting the entire backrest slightly more than you would otherwise. It makes quite a difference.

I also re-mounted my passenger-side head restraint backwards, as my mother could find no acceptable solution with seat adjustments.

I got used to mine, however turning them backwards is a good idea.
