I'm lucien2 and I live in Baltimore, MD. I'm currently shopping for a G2 as a (obviously not direct) replacement for my beloved 2013 Golf TDI. The family is getting bigger, and VW's buyback offer is too attractive to pass up, though I will miss this car.

In any case, I've been on the Subaru boards for ages, up until my defection to VW after 5 Subarus and a Volvo. I've learned a ton about the G2 simply by lurking, and I'm hoping there will be one in my not-too-distant future.

Welcome have you been out to any dealerships to get a closer look at G2 like Anderson or O'donell Honda.

I have indeed. Drove one for the first time, an RTL, at Parkville. I had the family in tow and in unfamiliar surroundings; afterward I realized I hadn't REALLY concentrated on the driving experience because I was so focused on the salesman's directions.

I drove it a second time, RTL-T, at Anderson in Timonium. More familiar roads, no kiddos. That's when I was able to focus more, and to be satisfied that it was pretty fun, despite the light steering.

Now I'm waiting for VW to settle the buyback, so I have the money for a down payment on a RL. It will still be the most expensive car I've ever purchased, so I am likely looking at RT or RTS. I reckon it will probably be Nov or Dec.
