This is really the only irritant I have with the G2.

On my G1 I loved to have the front windows up while the rear windows and sliding rear window were open. I opened the sliding rear window also because it reduced the helmholtz resonance created by having only the two rear windows open. When I do the 3 window method in my G2 the helmholtz resonance doesn't go away, it actually sounds like it gets worse. Has anyone else experienced this? Believe me, you would notice it. It sounds like a helicopter is in the cabin with you.

The moonroof and rear sliding window open does not have the same problem and of course all windows down is not an issue either.

Right, those would be resonators for the same purpose. I wonder if window visors help with this? I don't have them on my G2 like I did on my G1. Did some more reading and apparently this is becoming a bigger problem as cars become more and more aerodynamic.

Right, I totally agree, but I'm not having any luck here. Having both rears down and the slider open should definitely not have any resonance (wasn't a problem in the G1). I'm not nit picky about things, but this one annoys me. Guess I'll just have to use the moon roof/rear slider more often.

is it a buffeting that you are hearing or the whoosh (roar?) of the wind rushing by? I have have buffeting on several vehicles over my driving lifetime and some were unbearable and I have also had the wind rush blast in the driver window so strongly that I had to keep the windows up! Does it do it with the front windows down? You could try the window vent/rain guards, I don't know that they will definitely help but they could change the aerodynamics of the truck enough to stop the noise somewhat...maybe, no guarantees! >
Do you have a tonneau cover or cap? They also might smooth out the air flow.

Yes, there is more buffeting with the RL than other cars I have had. It can drive you nuts. The only way I have found to mitigate it when it happens is to open the driver window enough until it stops. I usually have the dog in the RL and when he is in the back with the window down opening up the other back window doesn't solve the issue enough. In other cars I would just open the opposite rear window enough for the buffeting to go away. I wonder if opening the rear window on BE's and E's just a pinch solves the issue.

Had a similar issue with my G1, but the G2 is definitely more susceptible. As others have commented, opening the back window or cracking the front windows usually stops it.

I have 17,000+ miles in. I've found the problem to be quite variable, apparently related to cross-winds. (That's the only thing I can pin the variability on.)

As someone else commented, I think that as aerodynamics of vehicles is calibrated to the gnats eyelashes, this is probably more likely to occur. The trade-off, I suppose, is better gas mileage. I'll take the latter.

Thanks for the suggestions and causes. It's definitely happens when the two rear windows are down. You can't hear yourself think! I had a 2011 Accord and never had the same experience. Wonder if this came up when the engineers were doing the wind tunnel testing. Going to have the door visors install this week so we'll see if this might help a little.

It is a feature, aids in ear wax removal. As a dog owner this is an option that pushed me to replace my G1with a G1. Hope an aftermarket sliding rear window surfaces. Tilting the sun roof open help ?

Unless of course if you prefer to not have your rear vision broken up with vertical bars, or would like a rear defroster standard, then G2 for the Win>

Try cracking a front window(s). Had this in every vehicle I have owned. You need to experiment to find the right combination to equalize the pressure.

I think the small glass windows on the back doors cause a very annoying wind buffeting problem when the back windows are down. Over 45 mph and you need to open a front window.

This is the only gripe I have that I can't fix.
