Yes, I ordered and installed the kit...it looks great and easy to install. The secret is to clean with alcohol before application. You can check my pics in the Image..thread.ninefive0 said:

Has anyone opted for the Honda metalic trim and if so, how does it look and hold up? Did it stick well to the dash and so forth? Thanks in advance. This is a great site. My first post!
Hey Tex...retract your answer until this Ohioan says they'll be at the ROC @ the ROCK. Come one ridgeln, help me out here.ninefive0 said:Hello Everyone,

Hey 950, I have the metallic trim -- dealer-installed, so I can't comment on installation... it seems to be holding up just fine, and I really like the way it looks -- it visually integrates the silver of the door grab handles and the dash knobs nicely. There are products people have recommended for keeping it clean and finger-print free (search on this site, it's here somewhere!) but I haven't bought anything yet cuz I'm lazy...ninefive0 said:Hello Everyone,

I too installed them. What ebone said of the installation is all true. Preparing the surface areas is very important. However, my observation of the material was the base is a thin rolled bright aluminum, then coated with a thin layer of opaque synthetic material.EBone said:I put the metallic dash trim kit in myself about a month ago and I really like it. It took about 30 minutes to install - the longest part was cleaning the dash first, and pulling off all the little self adhesive strip covers. While it's a metallic trim kit, it's actually plastic with a metallic spray finish. There do not seem to be any problems with it holding up to cleaning or anything else. I like the way it looks, really ties in the door handles with the instrument cluster and knobs.
Really, it's nothing to install. If you ever put stickers on your big wheel, you'll be just fine.
You don't think it would look good? But you've already got the primer-colored... I mean, silver truck! What's a little more primer?ninefive0 said:I like the looks of the trim kit, but I don't think that the dash surround would look good in my RL. If someone wants to split the cost of the kit and use only the dash surround, let me know.
Please explain more specifically what pieces you want to keep and which you would split with someone else. I've considered adding this to our truck.ninefive0 said:I like the looks of the trim kit, but I don't think that the dash surround would look good in my RL. No reflections....surface is dull, not shiny, just like the metal on steering wheel and grab handles.Truckin' said:Please explain more specifically what pieces you want to keep and which you would split with someone else. I've considered adding this to our truck.
I like the kit, but I worry about additional reflection ending up on the windshield from the perspective of a passenger. Do any of you that have the kit installed ever see the extra shine or image of the trim pieces on the windshield? I take a good portion of my photographs from the vehicle and reflections of any sort can ruin the photo. I have a dash mat on the way that I hope will tone down the dash reflection, even though it's not as bad as some vehicles I've owned.

Can't answer that as I have not installed one before. It sounds like you did everything correct. Maybe someone will chime in soon.Michael said:Just tried to install the rear door trim, both did not stick. I cleaned each side with Alcohol and it’s 75 degrees outside. Did I get a defective kit? Did I do something wrong? Help!
