Maybe what WD is saying is for every VW that has a warranty claim 1 out of 52 of those claims is related to an engine problem.

Not that one of every 52 VW engines has a problem. Two totally different things!!

Plus, Warranty Direct is more involved with autos that have some mileage on them, and are already out of any factory warranty.

+2^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^it is engine problems not failures.

VW is very well known for check engine lights demanding a trip to the dealer..........especially on some clean diesel models...........same is true for Mercedes and their clean diesel, I have one........been there......several times.

The numbers are too low to be all engine problems. They're probably counting engine rebuilds and replacements.

They do only have data on cars out of warranty.

Come on, you 'new' Ridgeline owners, sign up! There are still too few '13s in there for TrueDelta to track them.

Mkaresh: I registered my RL. Hopefully you'll have enough responses soon. Also, the drop down menus for the 2013 MDX are misbehaving. I could only select the base model to have it go through. I have the Technology Package with the RES. There is also the Advance trim. I wouldn't have noticed but the RL had all the trim levels as options. Thanks!

So, how have these trucks been doing lately?

Our reliability stats for the Ridgeline now include owner experiences through March 31, 2015. (Others are nearly a year behind.)

In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year ("low" is best):

2009 Ridgeline: 30, low, small sample size
2008 Ridgeline: 40, low
2007 Ridgeline: 26, low
2006 Ridgeline: 25, low

Plus, the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2008 Ridgeline: 68, < 1
2007 Ridgeline: 79, 3
2006 Ridgeline: 79, < 1

No stat for a model year? Then we very much need more participants for it. Same for those with small sample size notes. Next updates in August and November.

Our reliability stats for the Ridgeline now cover the year ending June 30, 2015.

Repair trips per 100 cars:

2009 Ridgeline: 23, low, small sample size
2008 Ridgeline: 44, low
2007 Ridgeline: 40, low
2006 Ridgeline: 32, low

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2008 Ridgeline: 65, 4
2007 Ridgeline: 75, 3
2006 Ridgeline: 71, < 1

If a model year isn't listed, or its sample size is small, then we especially need more owners involved.

We've updated our reliability stats for the Ridgeline to include owner experiences through the end of 2015, about eight months ahead of other sources. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year--lower is better:

2009 Ridgeline: 25, low, small sample size
2008 Ridgeline: 51, low
2007 Ridgeline: 38, low
2006 Ridgeline: 20, low

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2007 Ridgeline: 75, 4
2006 Ridgeline: 82, < 1

No stat, or a small sample size? Then we especially need more owners involved for that model year.

My 07 Ridge was a tank for the nearly 10 years I owned it. I sold it with 167K and it went away as being the most reliable vehicle I ever owned in my 30+ years of driving. I'm hoping my new 17 Ridgeline will be just as good!

I'm responding to a comment that's almost 3 years old....but if you're tuned-in just wondering how the 2017 Ridgeline has been so far. I also have a 2007 and am considering buying a 2019.

Thanks.
