I went to my local dealer here in Hawaii and wanted to purchase a ridgeline but all they had were RTLs in black. Told them I would like a RTL-E in Lunar Silver. They said if I can wait until Febuary next year they could order me one so I put down a large non-refundable deposit in mid October to order a RTL-E in silver. Got a call last week from the dealer telling me honda said no to there allocation request. I know basically how they're allocation system works "APEX" and the dealer said they would try and call to see if there's anything else they could do but basically said they are at the mercy of Honda and they are not sending them any RTL-E for the foreseeable future. Was wondering if there's anybody at Honda I can call to help the process of getting the Ridgeline I want in to the local dealer. I don't mind waiting and was bummed about this because the local dealer at first said that it was going to be built just for me and how cool that was.

Thank you. I gave them a call and they said they do not interfere with the dealers because the dealers are independently owned and operated. But they did document my concern and said there was a shortage of RTL-Es because they are more expensive. I guess I will have to just stick with the dealer and hope for the best maybe talk to the internet manager and see if he can help. The sales people here are not as pushy and they're very nice so hopefully it will just take time.

Got a call from Honda dealer sales person, he said Honda said there was a production issue with upper trim ridgelines and production has resumed but they would not accept an allocation request from my dealer until production catches up in about 3 to 4 months.

I think I will wait the 3-4 months and get the RTL-E I want so I won't have buyers regret. Hopefully Honda will accept the allocation request at the time. Dealer said they started production of upper trims again.

Talked to the dealer the other day and apparently Honda has suspended the dealer from getting any more ridgelines because a sales person sold a demo so because of that me and 15 other people are being punished by Honda for a salesperson's mistake who I think got fired from the dealership. They said the suspension will last 3 to 4 months before they can get ridgelines again
