Is there a way to compression test without threading? This would save me a few hrs of labour to find out the seals are gone.

To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement!

Thanks. I'm sure your 100% right, but nobody is going to fess up and eat this one...

Issue with compression test is the gauge won't even thread in without tapping the helicoil.

Is there a way to compression test without threading? This would save me a few hrs of labour to find out the seals are gone.

I have an older compression gauge that uses a rubber tapered seal instead of threading in. You should be able to find one.

Would you happen to have a link to one online? I've tried looking and can't find anything.

Not sure if Amazon or AutoZone would have it, but I can't say I know what it looks like either.

Pretty nice for the price. The only thing is you'll need 2 people to use this. One to hold the gauge and another to crank the engine.
Been there, done that. Hold tight!
