bought my G2 on June 29, 2016. Since then my floors have been wet after most rains. First time i brought it to Honda they said it was an improperly sealed grommet in the floor behind the driver seat. The second time i brought it in they had it for over a week and told be the body seam behind the cab was improperly sealed. Less than a month later the carpets were wet again and i brought it back. Honda has had it now for over a week. I was told that the body seam by the right front wheel well was improperly sealed also. The service manager told me the machine sealing the seam improperly sealed the seam with caulk. LET THIS BE A WARNING TO EVERYONE WHO HAS AN EARLY PRODUCTION G2, CHECK UNDER YOUR CARPETS. MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT GETTING ANY WATER UNDER THEM.

I am going Look tomorrow and I hope I don't have the same problem cause this is just crazy
how can one tell the manufacture date of their G2?

Look at the driver's side door jamb. There's a sticker that will give you month and year of production.
Ugh, that sucks.

Are the carpets entirely soaked? Or just on one side?

I would really want a entire new truck due to possible mold issues and smell.
Water issues happened on some G1's and owners never got any new trucks or compensation. Just some hot air and a piece of carpet or two.

Entirely Insane, why can't HONDA or HMA figure out how to seal a vehicle.

There are several posts in the G1 section, never read of anyone getting a new vehicle, but some got new interiors.

I took out my weather tech to clean them but i found out it has water on the bottom (see pic) anyone that has weather tech, please check yours. I check under the carpet and it is soak of water in the front diver and passenger and the back too. any idea where the leak is? I hope its the AC blowing under the weather tech in the back.

Re: anyone have water under weather tech or carpet

That looks more than just condensation from the AC and weathertec mats. That looks like your floor is soaked with water. Did it recently rain there?
Re: anyone have water under weather tech or carpet

yes, 3 days straight
do you have water in the front and back of driver and passegner? i do. what did they do to fix yours?

mine is made dec of 2016. so its not that early
Re: anyone have water under weather tech or carpet

I know the other thread talked about an improperly sealed body seam behind the cab with bad calk. Guess that could be a possibility, but with that much water I'd maybe guess the drain tubes from the moon roof are draining into the cab. Or maybe the seem around the back window is leaking.
Re: anyone have water under weather tech or carpet

I have a G2 also started smelling then checked water all under the carpets took to honda they said they could not find a leak but there checking with honda tech now I know thanks
Re: anyone have water under weather tech or carpet

I am having a similar issues with my 2018 RTL-E. The padding under rear seat was wet so I took it to the dealer who removed the carpet, dried it and then performed water tests, but could not find a leak. That was two weeks ago. I checked last night after I hand washed the truck and the water is back. I am taking back to dealer after the weekend. Do any of the previous posters in this thread have any suggestions.

I had that issue on my 2006...leak came from side near front passenger wheel. Dealer replaced carpet but didn’t fix well I had to do it myself.

If you have this issue after a hand wash to the vehicle....something tells me your problems is somewhere else and not coming from underneath. :nerd:

Just double checked mine...it's dry.
Check the door welds, the seam on the upper frame of the doors has been posted as a source of a leak. The weld seam looks like a turd. I ran into a guy outside a hardware store who claimed to have been in on the design work and asked me how i liked it. If I recall he was outsourced. I showed him the crap panel fit, which he agreed was pretty bad. I also pointed out the turd welds on the door seams. He stated the doors are made by an outside vendor, and he claims to have ok'd them to weld that seam without going through the proper signoffs. If folks were going around the quality system design controls, it might explain all the odd things I see posted on this forum. I can not confirm what he said is true, but odd to have somebody walk up and tell me a tale like that. Take it with a grain of salt. The TSB for the rear wiring comes to mind, was that some other on the fly change? Missing seam seal is another. I really like my Ridgeline, I constantly wonder whether the body and assembly were done right. At least I bought a late 2017. It's not unusual to have start up pains. At least Honda is doing the right thing. Getting the panel fit within reason was a very easy painless process.

Wish they would come out with an update for the crap cruise control. That just seems way too easy to fix.

So much for my rant, have a safe New Year everybody.

Hello All,

I am realizing I have the same issue with mine and the passenger rear seat is now stained and warped. I have the same welds and even light surface rust starting to show under the weather stripping. Has anyone had luck getting this fixed? I saw the comment about the welds possibly being the culprit and I have the same noticeable welds. I didn't find any TSB's or recalls on this either.
Add me to the wet carpet club. Dealer pulled trim and dried carpets. Tried to recreate leak by running hose over car, but no luck. They kept it for a week hoping for a good rain to drive it through, but of course it was dry around here. They put it back together and returned the vehicle to me. I guess I have to wait for the next rain to see if they can fix it.

Has anyone found the definitive solution? Mine is a December 2016 build.
