Leans toward the driver side

1191 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Dane
I'm in the market for a used Ridgeline. Found one nearby that is the right mileage. Seems to be in good condition. Thinking about taking a test drive.
Pics show it leaning toward the driver side. Suspension issue? Any owners have this problem? Other thoughts?
Thanks

Shouldn't be like that.

Look for worn/broken suspension components, especially the springs and the swaybar endlinks.

In case the previous owner was on the "heavy" side, I would also look for a worn-out driver's seat.

It may very well be the angle at which the picture was taken. You won't know for sure until you see it in person. If it's truly leaning to that side, a test drive will confirm worn/broken suspension pieces in a matter of minutes. I have 151k miles on my 07 and all of the suspension is original with no issues, noises or rattling.
Has to be the picture and the shadow. No way they would sell a vehicle like that.
You're far too trusting of (potentially) unscrupulous car dealers. :)

There was a recent story on Reddit where someone bought a used SUV in the rust belt area where the gas tank was being held on with a ratchet strap.

True true. I guess a more correct statement would be "No way they COULD sell a vehicle like that" Because it would be very obvious of the issue in person.
If you look at the grass retention berm in the background, it's also at a left to right downward angle. Those berms are designed to be level and constructed as such. It is parallel to the roof of the truck. I'm 95% positive the person taking the picture has one arm that's shorter than the other. Go take a look at it if the miles and price are right!
