I have a LED tail light strip that plugs into my 7 pin... I would like to instead of this, simply hard-wire this LED light
(which has reverse, left and right turn, brakes etc...) into the wires leading into the factory tow plug. So I'm just looking for something color-coded to save me a little time, and its tough to see which wire goes where in the plug... thanks!

that's exactly what i was looking for, thank you ! unfortunately it still doesn't name any of the wires by color so I guess I am going to have to probe each individual one and figure out what is what.

Below is a generic schematic that shows the layout of a typical 7-way harness. Note that the top-center terminal is commonly labeled as an auxiliary circuit but is used for backup lights on most vehicles; I don't know if that's true or not on the Ridgeline.

7-Way Trailer Wiring Diagram Color Code:
  • White = common ground
  • Blue = electric brake
  • Green = tail/running lights
  • Black = battery charge
  • Red = left turn/stop
  • Brown = right turn/stop
  • Yellow = auxiliary/back up

Espresso, update your profile with YMM (year, make and model) then someone can check the FSM or the Electical SM and get what you need
