Just got a 2013 Sport, and want....no....HAVE to install a bike rack. I have all kinds of bikes, but my question is really about the mounting height. Seems like all the fork mount designs use the top tie-down bolts to mount a cross-bar. The problem with this method it seems will be that the handlebars will be too high to clear the kayak on the roof - especially with my extra large frames. Anyone set one up to mount to the lower bolts?

Thanks and happy to have joined the "club".

Depending on bike type if it sits flat you may not be able to close the tailgate?

You could put in on the floor. See post 26 in the following thread...

Tailgate pad. Easy to use, easy to lock bikes (using cables and a u-lock). I have one and love it. Used it exclusively since I bought it last winter and my hitch rack is sitting the garage.
