Low Rumbling Sound when Cruise Control is Engaged

It's hard to describe sounds but when I use the cruise control at highway speed, I can hear a low rumble/rattling sound from under the hood. It only happens on very slight incline. If I'm pulling a hill, it goes away. When I'm on a perfectly level road, I cannot hear it. I cannot reproduce it with only my foot. It's almost like the mechanism controlling the accelerator is oscillating. It goes away as soon as I disengage the cruise control. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks

don't quote me on this but it sounds like the VCM.
My RTL does the same thing in fact you can even feel a slight vibration when in cruise control and the vcm kicks in and out. If you pay attention to the lights around the gauges the rumble and vibration happen when going from green to white. When the lights return back to green it's quiet and smooth. Makes no sense but I did check with my local Honda dealer and they feel it is associated with the vcm. Maybe Honda will get enough complaints and come up with an update to fix the problem.
I heard the same thing and placed a mic in various parts of the Engine area. I picked up the rumble where I expected, The Active Motor Mounts. If you read the thread on the VCMuzzler you will see the discussions.

Also, there is another thread in this area on the same issue

I am on the fence as to if I will leave VCM alone or disable it. There are pro's and con's on both sides of this discussions.

I talked with my service manager at the Honda dealership I bought my car at and he heard my audio clip and agreed also it was the active motor mounts.

Yes, my 2018 Ridgeline does the same thing.
