I put a magnetic device around my head once and became such a genius that I was intolerable to all normal humans I came in contact with. ;)

There is a nice writeup in Consumers Report I think about all of these "wonder" gas milage improvement gadgets. The bottom line is none of them work, not magnets, air vortex generators or all the rest. Only clean air filters and plugs and a light touich on the gas pedal can change what you get.

If you use a magnetic gas saver combined with a K&N air filter and an intake tornado you end up with a Ridgeline that would be competitive at NASCAR.

One important note: Do NOT use two of those magnetic gas savers on the same engine!! If you do they will align the gasoline molecules backwards and your engine will run in the reverse direction. I did that once and had to put the transmission in reverse to go forward until I could get that extra magnet removed. Going backwards that was the fastest truck around... I had five gears going backward!

If you add a few deer whistles, curb feelers, paint & fabric protection, and don't forget VIN window etching you have the ULTIMATE Ridgeline.

I'm thinking a few magic oil pellets will rebuild my engine when I get 200,000 miles. I was going to use Amsoil oil and only change my oil once every ten years, but then I saw a commercial for this Prolong stuff and I don't need any oil at all in my engine if I use it.

I'm also thinking about removing my fuel injection system and installing this carburetor that gets 100 MPG on ANY car.

I was going to change out the resistor on my intake air temp. sensor and get an extra 50 horsepower, but given all the great stuff above I don't think my tires would hold the extra power. Need to go to slicks first.

Csimo,

You should have just gotten the Amazon Green Ridgeline. Everyone knows that is the fastest color that gets the most MPG without all of those fancy gadgets.

Are these for real?
Csimo didn't go far enough in installing two magnetic gas savers. If a third one would have been installed, the molecules would not only have been realigned correctly, but would have started reproducing. The drawback is that you have to stop frequently to drain the excess fuel from the tank. You can gain even more efficiency by clipping wooden clothes pins to the fuel line.

A bulb just turned on!!!
All this talk about magnets gave me an idea to compete with Viagra and Cialis!
A set of rotating field windings installed on your favorite color rubber, and see that stationary armature take off! :D

I think a combination of me, White Castle and perforated negative induction seats is good for at least 10mpgs :D

or at least my wife and kids would be happy...and I'd stop hearing my 3-year old holloring DADDY, STOP IT!! from the back seat :)

Whoa! Hold on here! Maybe we are being too hard on this product. After careful reevaluation of the product, I noticed that unlike the similar product of 30 years ago that used simply cow magnets, this new and improved device uses "Highest Power Neodymium Rare Earth Magnets". They are high tech now and their claims are posted on the internet, so they must be true mustn't they?

No, No, No Mike, Ya got it all wrong! That is only true on Tuesdays that have an odd date and are in a month without an "R" in them. Ya gotta be careful, theres lotsa bad information about these things out there in that internet.

By the way, I read that if you carry one of these things around in your pants pocket that magical things will happen. Don't carry one in each pocket though, that could be dangerous.

I am sure that these new rare earth/ceramic magnet technology could work effectivly. They have much greater strength than standard metal magnets.

If you glued enough of them to your front bumper you could attach yourself to the bumper of the car in front of you and cut your fuel usage to nothing. Of course you may want to keep the engine running to run the stereo and airconditioning.

A note of caution: keep your Rolex away from the bumper.

I keep a pyramid with a 36" x 36" base in my truck bed right over the gas tank so those energizes could extend the life(or milage) of my gas!
Remember those days! :D

I also remember pyrimids called multilevel marketing.
You sell your magnets to ten people and they sell magnets to ten people and you get your magnet for free.

I also remember worm farms being a big thing.

I wonder if we could fill the trunk with compost and worms, plumb a hose to the engine to run on methane gas and sell the worms to make the car payment?

I am going to quit my job today.

Oh wait I need beer money, if I sell a six pack to ten people...................

There's big money in Alpaca's.

What exactly do they use an Alpaca for? Never had an Alpaca burger, so it must be the fur or something.

Either way I'm told by late night infomercials that there's big money in Alpaca's so I'm sure they're right.

Anyone remember the Businessmen's Venture? Early 80's I think.

There is one fuel saver that I have heard works. It is made and marketed in Montana and I have talked to and read about many people who have installed this devise and apparently it does work. I do not have it on my RL yet but plan to install it soon. Honest - I have hear it really works. The web site is:
