Got a vehicle in your shop with a CD changer that
skips when it’s cold but works just fine once it warms
up?
To fix this problem, replace the CD changer. If the
changer skips regardless if it’s cold or warm, then
refer to the Audio System section of the applicable
S/M and follow the normal troubleshooting
procedures. (Online, enter keyword
AUDIO, and
select
Audio disc skips from the list.)

Had a CD skip the other day, but it was a ripped one. Haven't had the problem with original CD's yet. Was it cold? Don't remember, but think the truck interior had sufficiently warmed. Do not have Navi, just regular player.

Cold is a relative term.

When it gets down to 40 degrees here, that's cold and it hasn't been an issue.

Frankly, whenever it drops below 75, that's cold.
Never below 75??

We have had our Ridge in 3 times for this issue and dealer told us no problem with the unit. They add on the ticket that it must be dirty CD's and then they said that we were using copied CD's this could be the problem also... I have a scheduled appointment this Monday on this fix..

I too had this problem in the beginning and resolved it by taking out each CD individually and wiping them clean with a lint-free cloth.

A distinct and visible layer of film appears on the CD's after some time.

I've never had the problem since.

I have been doing that from day one and while some cleaning is required I swear it is like every couple days with thebridge and when it is cold that sometimes does not work; I thought it was just me; will havwe to investigate this a little further.

Wow.. and here I thought it was me. I took Ridge in to the dealer when I noticed that it was skipping every morning after I came out of work at 5am. I didn't link up the morning with the skipping at the time, but I did mention that I thought it might be a case of condensation on the discs or something. When I got to the dealer, of couse, it was late afternoon and quite warmed up and not displaying a single symptom. I felt like an idiot as I drove away. I am going to make another appointment now and make sure they look up this info. Thanks.

Not quite, but almost. I took it back to the dealer and dropped it off at the night drop off and left a copy of the service notice hanging out of the display. It seems to have gotten their attention and they will be calling me as soon as my new cd changer has come in. I also had to have them look at the trim piece on the bedliner on the drivers side that had come up and looked like it was going to fall off, and the already fixed that. Still have the broken windsheild that looks like a stress fracture from below the windsheild but they are being adamant that it is a rock chip, and since my boyfriend is agreeing with them, I will just call and have a glass company replace the glass.
