I own one of the original 06 Ridgelines.

I LOVE MY RIDGELINE.

I bit the bullet and ordered the update to my Nav system. I did the update and at no time was I given the option to backup or save my address book and navigation information.

After the update I looked and was horrified to find my address book and all my past stops had been erased.

Is there anyway to get them back ? and for the future how do you backup the nav system.

I'm not entirely sure if the Nav system contains any flash memory, I believe it is all CD based. Not sure if a backup/restore is even possible.

I looked into this have not found a way to save data if you upgrade. Would be interewsted if anyone has a way.

Good to know since i just bought my used RL and I have not added any addresses yet. I will wait to add all my POI's until I get the new 2011 DVD.

Good idea, we have had ours since April of 05. It is the 1st truck that I have loved. Were thinking of replacing the oem system, this might be the straw. I can not afford to loose another address book.
