I was just perusing the Nav DVD (4.13C) on my PC and found a bunch of interesting icons in the mapicons\map\traffic_icons folder that suggest some kind of live traffic condition handling. There are icons for:

Accident
Construction
Slippery Road
Incident and others

Is there some hidden functionality we don't know about? Some tie in with XM perhaps to get traffic updates?

The file dca0_mod.evt contains some cryptic text - "REFERENCE TO AUDIO BROADCASTS" & "SERVICE MESSAGES"

Answering my own posts here. I found this article which talks about XMTraffic which is a NavTeq product...

XM NAV TRAFFIC updates info every 5 minutes. You must have service connected and optional NavTraffic satellite tuner. Service runs about $5 a month. Not sure if it works with non Pioneer systems, but Pioneer's part # is GEX-P10XMT.
