Test drove a Black Edition last night and sled the salesperson the platform for the navigation system. He did not know at the time but went to ask another salesperson and said its DVD based. If it is such, where is the DVD drive located? On my 2007 and 2013 Acuras the drive is located under the driver's seat. Also, a little disappointed that ventilated seats are only available in Canada. Sure do which i could drive about 60 miles to the Lincoln plant to get a Canadian model!

LOL, It is not DVD based. The head unit has internal non-volatile memory that stores the map data. Internal maps can be updated through a thumb drive (flash storage) via USB as needed. It is Garmin based and the Garmin website has an OEM web page (hyperlink below).

There is no longer any need to have a rotating mechanical storage device/reader (DVD) to store map data which would be prone to failure.

Don't get too upset about the ventilated seats. I drove one for an extended test drive yesterday. Barely felt anything in butt or back after 30 min of having it on max cool. I wouldn't pay extra for that feature...

Gotta say I'm enjoying the ventilated seats during long highway drives. They are just cool enough to prevent getting a sweaty arse, but not so cold that you walk away with a case of haemorrhoids.

So, for you Canadians with the ventilated seats: Can you look at the pics of the US interior and tell me if the perforations are the same, or did you guys get a differently perf'd leather for the ventilation?

If all you got is similar to what we have here in the US for perfs, I would think it wouldn't flow that much air....
anyone finding the NAV give message "no map data available" ?

I get that once in awhile and basically the screen still show my truck AND the map...but I'm off to the side..etc

I thought it might be due to the GPS taking a few sec. to lock..etc (like phones and standalone GPS)...but...

It only go back to normal when you park and turn vehicle off and start over again and things are golden. Otherwise.. if I keep driving, The truck icon shows I'm off along the side of the route traveling...AND ACTIVELY MOVING...weird.
I like this feature a lot !

especially the REAR defroster !

I've had cars with aftermarket remote starter...etc.

Older cars have "clicking" manual button.
The newer cars ALL have soft touch button... My car can be mostly cleared on all sides EXCEPT the rear window.

NOT ANYMORE ! :p

As a MDX owner that has ventilated seats, the hole diameter and layout of the seat perforations look very similar.

It has happened to me as well. My CarPlay stuff has also basically locked up to the point where I cannot change the volume.
