Hello, I've been browsing this forum for several months trying to educate myself. I bought my first truck a few months ago and I'm very happy with it (2013 Ridgeline RTS). It came with an A.R.E. Shell which I really like, couldn't imagine not having it now. I'd like to have a bunch of camping and hunting trips with the vehicle, so I guess my next steps are to buy a full-size spare, truck tent, and maybe a 2" lift. I think the Ridgeline will do everything I need it to do since I'm not interested in crazy offroading, just need to get to my remote destinations. Looking forward to learning more from the people here!
edit: I wanted to add that what attracted me to the 2013 Ridgeline was the few bells and whistles. For example, I don't own a TV at home and have no desire to have a big screen in my vehicle, so I was happy with the analog controls. Seems like all the newer vehicles come standard with a screen. But at the same time, I thought a rearview camera was really useful. I was resigned to the fact that I couldn't have it all, so I was excited when I discovered that Ridgelines magically pop up small grainy rear footage on the rearview mirror so that I could get the best of both worlds. The horizontal tailgate is also great when I have to reach for stuff in the bed, considering that I have a shell. I rarely have to crawl in the back. Everything is just very functional and works great.
