Hi Everyone,
Soon to be (Monday I hope) owner of an 06. 110,000 mi, RTL, roof rack, running boards and bull bar? New timing belt, rear brakes, tires, and detailed for $12700. I think I did ok. Similar vintage for sale in the new england area for a similar price had miliage over 130,000. Some up to 184,000.
Thoughts??

Also I wil need a hitch eventually and some style of bed cover. Would like to know good/bad experiences of others with these two decisions.
Thanks in advance
Eric

Any Hitch will do, No need to go OEM, but Several of us like the CURT Hitch. Hitch wiring is a "ONLY GO WITH OEM"

I'm a +1 on Replace the Radiator, Do a 3 D n F on the Trans and I'd say your off to the races....

Thanks for the input. Will find out if radiator is original or has been done. OEM or aftermarket for that? Since I am a rookie here what is a 3 D n F on the trans? Fluid change on trasmission?

Epp, 3 D n F, is 3 drain and fills, that will bring the trans completely to the newer type Trans fluid, although if you have good maintenance history on it there may have been enough changes so far to have completed that.

All the following threads are on Transmission/Radiator issues.

Thanks Carsmak, I did some searching on the forum (DUH) after I posted and kind of connected the dots. The links didn't work for me but I did a bit more searching on the forum. So if I am understanding the potential issue, it is related to corrosion of the radiator fittings wich can lead to failure of the transmission as well. The radiator should be replaced so the new fluid isn't contaminated by the residual fluid. And the 3 d n f would be so that the old fluid is gone from the cooler lines etc. Is my logic reasonable?

Yes, your on it, 3 D n F will get the amount of DW-1 into the high 80% range if I remember

I'll repost the links, they work for me, but I'll test them on another PC
