2006 Honda Ridgeline RTL w/Navagation

I have been using the voice controlled automatic climate control. On the first cold day since I bought the truck (used), I tried the heat out. It was 30 degrees outside and after 45 miles the cabin wasn't warm. I had a mechanic check things out. The passenger side & rear vents are blowing hot, but the drivers side is cold.

The air conditioning works fine in all vents.

What could the problem be?

The mechanic was going to try to swap out the temp sensor first...

I don't really think that will help either, but the temp sensor for the auto climate control is on the drivers side. I would think the whole system would blow cold if it was broken though.

Most likely, you have either a mechanical or electrical problem with the driver side blend door actuator or the HVAC control head. It's stuck in the "cold" position. None of the three temperature sensors (cabin, ambient, and evaporator) should be related to this problem.

I have similar problem but it is the passenger side temp remains cold with the driver side temp operating normal. The rear seat vent mimics the front dash with the left side normal and the right side cold. I want to check out the operation of the blend door actuator but do not know where it is located. Any suggestions?

A few members who had the recall performed ended up with no heat. The 'technicians' performed the work carelessly and sometimes used the wrong parts kit. Look for the word 'saboteur' and you'll find the thread.

I had the recall on the wireing harness by the passenger side foot area, performed on my Ridgeline about 4 or so months ago and have not had to use the heat too much. Mostly I ride alone so never noticed anything until we went on a trip a few weeks ago. The passenger side blows cold air while the drivers side is adjustable with the controls. I called the dealer and he said he had not heard of the recall replacement causing any problems but that he would look at it.

I will post what the outcome is, but don't know how soon I will be able to take it in. Does anyone have any new information about the dual controls not working?

Had the same issue with the recall done in August. I didn't notice the heat not working on the passenger side until the weather changed.

Took my Honda Ridgeline into the San Jose Stevens Creek dealership with the issue of the heat not working properly and freezing my friends on our ski trip to Lake Tahoe last weekend.

I mentioned that an on-line Ridgeline group indicated there was an issue with a recall not performed correctly, ie. a connector not plugged in properly during the "fix."

"Nope. Never heard of that as a problem" said the Service Advisor.

After leaving the truck with the service department all day I got a call, "My apologies to your cold friends on your ski trip. Looks like the technician didn't connect the plug properly."

Of course, after I got home I noticed the glove compartment wasn't opening smoothly and I found a screw laying on the dash board. So, I flipped on my back and looked underneath the dash. Sure enough, the little arm/piston assembly that controls the smooth opening of the glove box wasn't connected. Figured out how it connects and did the operation myself rather than spending 3 hours going back to the dealer to correct the error.

Don't you just love it! :-b

Warm riding on the next Tahoe ski trip!

I've been reading and searching the archives for this problem but haven't found it, so here goes.

I've had the poor floor heat thing from the time I bought it in October 05, but just thought it was a poor design. Recently, I would feel cool/cold air throughout the cabin while I was driving with the heater on. I had my wife try the passenger side vents and to both our surprise, there was cold air blowing from her side and the defrost vents. All of this cold air is blowing out every vent except for the 2 vents on the driver's side. Has anyone else experienced this? Please help, as I have called the dealership and they want to charge $109 just to look at it and then told me a ballpark figure of somewhere in excess of $600 to fix. That is crazy to me. Help.

Signed...Blazing hot on the driver's side...freezing everywhere else!

There's a built-in diagnostic in the heater control.

You should be able to find the procedure, or somebody with the right manual will provide it.

The diagnostic may not tell you if something inside your dash was assembled wrong, but it confirms whether several components are functional.

Hello everyone. New Ridgeline owner and newbie to site. Have an '06 that I bought about a month ago. Knew there were a few issues but figured I could make it work. The one I really want to get looked after is my heat. About a week ago the drivers side quit blowing hot air. Passenger side works fine. It is not dual climate control. Took dash apart last night but can't see how there is different temperature heat when it looks like it only has one feed. Does anyone know if there is a separate feed but only one control? Related to this issue now is when I hooked everything back up, my audio system wants a code number. Looked through all my manual papers and can't find one. Where or how can I get the number?
Thanks

Blower gate controls which element the air flows over for cooling or heating. Mine did the same thing. I took part of my center console apart and removed my glovebox so I could see the control rods. My center console had so much dust and dirt behind it, very surprising as I keep my truck fairly clean (So I thought), the rods and the plastic pieces were binding. Some strategic vacuuming and my A/C was working normally again.

The radio code is on a card that was hopefully included with the trucks original paperwork. If not, go to a dealer and give them your VIN code and show proof of ownership and they should be able to provide the stereo's security code.

No heat on any setting! IE feet v Face v windshield?
Just air flowing there? Same flow as passenger side?
Heat is fine on all settings on passenger side vents. Air flow same both sides, just no heat drivers side.

BTW- called dealer where vehicle originally purchased and they a
had security code for radio saved :)

The gates also control which side gets what.
