OK - First off I do not take credit for figuring this out. This has been done on the ROC before with detailed write ups that I will be referencing.

Parts you will need:
A Odyssey or Pilot Overhead console + Conversation Mirror + Homelink off of Ebay. - It is way cheaper that buying the parts individually. Search for Honda Homelink and look for a unit that resembles the one in the picture.
Computer jumper cables - I recommend a 6-pin jumper. (This is optional - you may get a harness with your part off of Ebay).
Ambient Light-Choose your color from this page.
Three Posi-Taps or a wire tap of your choice.

Optional: LED upgrade for your overhead console.

Steps:
1) Replace Map Light using instructions that were posted by redisant (Thread, Instructions)
Trimming of the bulb is required.

2) Optional - If you are replacing the LED (not the map light but the interior one) using the link I provided make sure and tape off the back of the LEDs with electrical tape as contact with the metal on the back of the console will cause them to short out. (Information taken from here).

3) Remove the old console using the instructions provided in Step 1.

4) Attach jumper to the wire harness using these instruction originally posted by SCRocs here.

From the 10-pin roof console connector (green):

Position 1 - Red/Blue wire to Black wire of 4-pin compass harness (ground)
Position 4 - Red/Black wire to Yellow wire of 4-pin compass harness (hot at On or Start)
Position 5 - Black wire to Black wire of 4-pin compass harness (ground)
Position 6 - White/Blue wire to White/Blue wire of 3 pin map light harness (hot at all times)

Test Connections - make sure they work and put it back together.

So does the home link work? I have wanted to do this since I will be moving to a house with a garage and would prefer to have this as a garage door opener

Just tested it out - and yes it does work.

Programming was a breeze

  1. For first time training, press and hold the two outer HomeLink® buttons, releasing only when the HomeLink indicator light begins to flash, which may take up to 20 seconds. (Do not perform this step when training the additional HomeLink buttons.)
  2. Position the hand-held transmitter 1-3 inches away from the HomeLink surface, keeping the HomeLink indicator light in view.
  3. Using both hands, simultaneously press and hold the desired HomeLink button and hand-held transmitter button. DO NOT release until the HomeLink indicator light flashes slowly and then rapidly. When the indicator light flashes rapidly, both buttons may be released. (The rapid flashing indicates successful training.)
  4. Press and hold the trained HomeLink button and observe the indicator light.
    • If the indicator light is solid/continuous, training is complete and your device should activate when the HomeLink button is pressed and released.
    • If the indicator light blinks rapidly for 2 seconds and then turns a solid/continuous light, proceed with Steps 5-7 for a rolling code device. A second person may make the following steps easier. Please use a ladder or other device. Do not stand on your vehicle to perform the next steps.
  5. At the receiver (motorhead unit) in the garage, locate the "learn" or "smart" button (usually near where the hanging antenna wire is attached to the unit). If there is difficulty locating the button, reference the garage door owner's manual.
  6. Press and release the "learn" or "smart" button (the name and color of the button may vary by manufacturer). NOTE: Once the button is pressed, you have approximately 30 seconds to initiate the next step.
  7. Return to the vehicle and firmly press and hold the trained HomeLink button for two seconds and release. Repeat the "press/hold/release" sequence up to 3 times to complete the training process.

For those interested here is the green connector.

2013 Sport install went really good.

A couple of notes, connect both black wires to same solid black, not the black wire with the grey dots, I was able to get a green connector pig-tail and it had the same black with dots but the connection didn't work properly when connected black to black and dots to dots.

I just want to add the conversation mirror to my existing 2011 RTL overhead console, can I swap just the mirror/sunglass holder out with my existing sunglass holder in my current console?

Can I order just that piece from an Odyssey or do I have to get the entire console and what years are compatible?
Hello;

I have an issue with my roof console, I did the conversion, but the home link is not energized, the map light works but not the home link.
Any suggestion?... I have a Sport Ridgeline 2012.

Tap wired on Pin #1 & Pin #5 the black wire from 4-Pin compass harness.
Pin #4 with yellow/green wire from 4-Pin compass harness.
Pin #6 with white/blue wire from 3-Pin Map light harness.

Please Help!!!

I don't understand what you mean regarding solid black wire"", I got the green pig tail connector and the only black wire attached is the one with Dots, and the compass harness only has the black wire with dots as well; or from where are you getting the "ground" wire???

Thanks!
