Last August was my last oil change, I don't drive too much, only 8 miles a day. My truck had minor seepage of oil. 2007 Ridgeline.
I was just now with a a tech doing the brakes and he asks me when was the last time I put in oil and I told him I don't put oil in my truck and had the oil change done at our dealership last August, why? He tells me when he checked the oil level it has a quart too much oil in it.

I looked up my last invoice and it has 6 quarts billed out when the Ridgeline only holds 4.5 and we don't know if he really put in 6 or put in 7 or 8 since we don't hand out quarts we use bulk oil.

Long story short the tech told me that my leak could be caused by overfilling the oil. Would that be possible with a 14 year old ridgeline?

Yes. 1/2 to 1 qt probabaly not but 2+ more then likely could cause some seepage from a bit more crankcase pressure. I am sure some other factors like a plugged pcv come into play as well
