I found a pool of oily liquid just behind and below power steering fluid reservoir on my 07 ridgeline. I think its under motor mount. Any help before I bring it in tomorrow???? So I have an idea. Thanks

What color is the liquid? Red like A/T fluid, or brown/gold like motor oil?

Have you noticed the oil level dropping or low A/T or Power Steering levels?
It's like a brown color. All fluids are full, so I am stumped. Someone told me we have hydraulic motor mounts. It seems to be the source?? Do you know the spot I'm talking about.ever hear this before?
From what others have posted, the mounts are fluid filed.
Look for cracks on the mounts...although, if they are bad, you'll know by the thud when you start and stop. I had to replace 2 of mine. There are 3 total. Front, passenger side, and back by the tranny. I replaced the front and side ones.

From my description am I right spot for mounts? I am far from being a auto mechanic if you know what I mean
Any idea how much it's going to cost?
It's not cheap, that's for sure. If I remember correctly it's over $200 per mount.

There's a thread somewhere on here talking about.
I'm sure it's gonna cost me big money since I'm getting it done in queens, N.Y. nothing's cheap here.
I should have saved my Xmas cash...lol
I actually keep a piece of cardboard on the garage floor under my cars to spot any leaks as soon as they start.

So over a year ago, I noticed a little puddle of what looked to be Permatex Dielectric Silicon grease appear on my garage floor under one of Infiniti cars. I thought there is no way I could have ever overused dielectric grease to cause a puddle like that to appear. I was able to trace it to a cracked silicon front lower stabilizer arm bushing.

I don't know what type of filling is used for Ridgeline motor mounts. However, I have seen silicon filled motor mounts on a different car last for 23 years without issue.

Is your A/C compressor running ok? The only other issue I've had in the area of the PS reservoir is when an A/C line rubbed against a body ground fitting and ruptured the A/C line. The Honda replacement part corrected what appeared to be a manufacturing fault as the line should have been insulated against the body ground fitting.

Is your Ridgeline still in warranty? How many miles do you have on it?

Let me pull you a listing of Motor Mounts from our sponsor RockAuto.com so you will have some prices.

Here's a listing of Motor Mounts from RockAuto.com

If you scroll down you can see a list of Motor Mount prices below.

I have used Anchor mounts on my Infiniti I30 and Nissan Maxima without issue. Also, I have never had an issue with Beck Arnley parts -- while they do generally cost a little more than other brands.

If you see the little Red Heart by a product at RockAuto it means it is a top seller..

I see Ridgeline uses some vacuum powered motor mounts. That is certainly better than electric mounts in my book. Thumps up to Honda for vacuum powered mounts! I can tell you some horror stories about what happens when an electric mount fails as I've seen a failed electric mount short out the main ECU computer.

Yes there is a mount there. I replaced that one on mine. That one is easier than the front one. I got my mounts from majestic Honda and did them myself. I used a block of wood on a floor jack to gently pick the engine up.

That mount is part 8 in this diagram... $86 for the part.

Maybe on newer ones? My 06 has nothing attached to the motor mounts to control them. I was under the impression that they were oil filled and stiffened with sudden pressure. I did not cut my old ones open to see what was inside them.

To the best of my knowledge, Motor Mounts on the Ridgeline have no external "control" features. Hydraulic control refers to the internal fluid chambers and bypass valves that permit or obstruct the internal movement of the hydraulic fluid that serves as the "Damper" for elimination of vibration as the vehicle frame and the engine vibration interact. ( wow that was a long sentence.)

Happy New Year to all !

Pictures of the models with the vacuum nozzles

I didin't see anything quite like this below on mine.

With Vacuum Nozzle

Has vacuum Nozzle but noes not supply vacuum lines.

Honda definitely uses fluid filled active mounts on VCM equipped Pilots. Some people have a real tough time with VCM system. But the vast majority don't.

yeah i know they are fluid filled. that one on the side is jiggly.
Thanks for all the help guy's. Just got back from my mechanic. I had two broken motor mounts upper and lower. $250 for the both installed. Can't complain and tossed in oil change. Can feel the difference the second I put it in gear.
