Overhead Console Wiring for Radar Detector

Folks,

I am going to hard wire my radar detector to the overhead console this weekend. I am wondering if anyone has already identified an ignition source power and ground wires from the myriad wires running around above???

Easy Peasey. See the posts on Dash Cams. Explains wiring path and fuse/circuit locations.

Note: It seems much easier to run down the post than to try to mess with the overhead console itself. all wiring is hidden. YMMV

Enjoy!
^^^ what @ScooterS said.

Tapping into the console wire wouldn't be my first choice (and I'm gutsy). All things are switched up there, except the light blue wire, from what I can tell.

But it is such a light gauge of wire, and it is also bundled tightly. It is so much less risky and not at all more work to chase your wire down the pillar to the fuse panel. Plus, it's harder to tell what load you are adding to up there if you choose blindly.

But... without responsibility, if you know how to read color coding, anything but light blue (as far as my limited discovery).

Cheers, report back what you find.
I wasn't interested in tapping the fuse panel and running my ten-inch length "mirror tap" power cord from there up the A-pillar, around the edge of the headliner, and down to the radar detector mount on the rear view mirror for obvious reasons. So I tested the wires in the lower connector on the mirror and confirmed the red one is ignition source power and the brown one is ground.

Do you have any pictures of this installation? I am looking to do this as well. Thanks for any help you can provide.
