I have not used a larger size oil filter on my Hondas. I've used nothing but Honda filters on my 91 Accord (138,000), 97 Accord (68,000), 97 CR-V (238,565) 2002 Odyssey (81,530), 03 CR-V (62,153), and Honda 90 outboard. I've been using the new small filter since they came out and I've never had a problem.

I think the quality and changing on a regular basis works best. I use AmOil and change the filter every 5,000 miles and oil at 10,000 mile intervals.

I sleep better at night knowing it better for my engine. I'm a mechanical engineer, at least have a degree in it, so I like to worry about such things.

I have used several different oilfilters, I found the K&N Oil filters are about the same price as other premium filters but they have a 1/2" Hex Nut welded to the end and it makes installing/removing so easy and I can get to the recomended torque per honda very easily.

I already have my HP-1010 waiting with case of Mobil Clean 7500 synthetic blend oil. As for warranty the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act will protect us all against Honda trying to void a warranty as long as we keep our reciepts.

If you use the amsoil, bosch, mobil1, filter you only have to change it everytime you do an oil change @ 10,000 thats what there designed for, I do 2 oil changes a year on all my cars @10,000 oil and filter your wasting your time and money
