That's what you get for not buying an unnecessarily large truck with 3' clearance, 35" tires, big ass chrome grill, bumpy ride, 10mpg, and haul 200+ pounds a few times a year. Serves you right.
People are brutal towards the RL
I guess i shouldnt be so surprised, but some of the comments I'm getting on my Ridgeline videos on youtube are brutal. Tons of hate towards the RL. Ive had to delete some of the comments that were directly insulting to me for purchasing one.

Get used to it. Ignorant people have been dogging the RL since its inception. I've owned a Ram 1500 and and Avalanche. The RL is the best driving truck, period. Certainly it has its limitations, but it's all the truck 90% of "truck owners" need. Ignorance is bliss!
I drive a RAM 1500. It suits my needs as I tow regularly. However, not all people need or want a 1/2 or 3/4 ton when the RL will do the job. My wife now has the RL and it is a perfect all around AWD vehicle, competent in any weather, and very comfortable riding. More so than my body on frame beast. Don't expect "Big A** Truck People" to get the concept. They're way in to the image rather than what they might actually need.
The reason they are brutal is because they are scared. What are they scared of? Well, I'll let them speak for themselves. Read post 11 in the following TacomaWorld thread (THX to camp10 for providing the link).

IMHO, BOF purists tend to guard the "truck" label like it's their personal image badge. No one else gets to say they drive a truck unless it meets the criteria that the purists have etched on stone tablets. The RL is singled out for an extra dose of scorn because it was a finalist for Motor Trend's 2017 Truck of the Year and then won NA TOTY at the Detroit Auto Show. That is pure blasphemy and akin to poking a nest of fire ants with a stick! To these guys, the soft-faced unibody RL is a pretender to the throne of "real" pickup trucks. I would not expect that to change.

Yep they have hated G1 Ridgeline for the years it's been around. They don't know what they're really taking about.
The towing ratings of the the Ridgeline don't bother me. If I needed something that towed better I would look into purchasing a vehicle that would do it better. If I wanted to something to go off-road every day I would look at something that was more capable than Ridgeline.
I have absolutely no interest in off -road playing around.
Primary thing is how does it do on road handling driving comfort. How's it going to do on a thousand mile road trip. They keep spouting off at mouth about off-road like this is the gold standard of a trucks ability.
It's got to venture on road at sometime and many of them are piss poor examples. Don't need big dressed up work trucks as a commuter or highway long distance driving vehicle. The only off road stuff I will be doing is getting out of some snow. If you're coming from a luxury vehicle like you did you will appreciate the Ridgeline even more.
Some of these people are just plain ignorant. They don't uderstand what the Ridgeline is or it's capabilities or versatility. My favorite one was the person referring to the in-bed trunk as a cat litter box. Dumb idiot that feature gives you lockable dry secure storage. Tonneau Cover is no good if you need to remove it for carrying something like lawnmower.

I traded a 2015 GMC Canyon for my Ridgeline because the Canyon lacked several features my wife and I wanted in our truck. The newest Denali version was a disappointment because it did not add any of the features we wanted...mostly cosmetic.
I am a member of the Colorado/Canyon Forum and a very long thread developed which was started by an individual who traded for a Ridgeline for the same reasons we did. The comments from Colorado/Canyon owners were very harsh as one might expect in defense of their "trucks".
Just ignore the bad comments. I saw several good comments along with your video's. Those were the ones that are meaningful because they respect the Ridgeline for what it is. Even those who post negative comments would probably be served very well by the Ridgeline for 99% of their driving needs.
I love mine and do not have second thoughts at all.

Over the top negative comments are unfortunately the norm on YouTube, for any video topic. Any hobby, profession, sport - anything that generates passion leads to haters and trolls. Your videos are good, don't take the bait. I'm glad you are putting content out there. The more people learn about this truck, the better. Yes it defies conventional wisdom, but that's what makes it good.
Youtube videos seem to bring out the worst in some people.

Every fanboy bashes every other brand, car or truck. My area has a truck club facebook group and people there bash each others' trucks. Ford towards Ram and GMs and so on. It gets hilarious actually. Honda just joined the club that's all. Still doesn't change the fact that the RL is the best all-around for majority of owners' needs.
On the way to work last week, commuting comfortably in my Ridge RTL. I passed an old Currier, it made me think of the fact nobody beat up on these early mini pickups, not the Chevy Luv, not the early Datsun or Toyota of Ford Ranger. They were all less capable than the Ridgeline, not much more than motorized wheel barrows. They where cramped, road like a cheap wagon and had few creature comforts but, they where ladder framed, solid axel leaf spring rear end just like the bigger pickups that had evolved little since the 50's. regular truck guys left them alone.
The big thee truck guys just can not understand the Ridgeline, maybe the rough ride effects the brain or if you are not dragging your knuckles on the ground on the way to your vehicle we just don't fit in in their circles.
The ridge will not do some of the things the big boys do, but the big boys don't do it that often and the Ridgeline is far more comfortable day in and day out.

I found your review to be a good summary of my opinions and experiences. I have been in the snow, not as deep as your experience, and on the beach and on the interstate. Anyone that rides or drives in this vehicle agrees it's the best riding Honda they've ever experienced.
You will be trolled. The only thing worse than a Troll on the internet is a niche Troll on the internet. These guys think their idea of a truck should be the gold standard of what everyone should need in a truck. Ergo "SUT" and 'Lifestyle" truck remarks. I used my BE yesterday to haul 1200 lbs of retaining wall stones from Lowe's, on a skid, and it all fit. I read some of the comments, why would someone expect you to have to justify a midsize pickup truck while living in a condominium with the garage? There are some neighborhoods in my area that won't even let you leave a car outside of your house overnight.

Also, the most peculiar part of owning a G2 is the G1 owners who hate this truck. I enjoy laughing at F-150 and Dodge Ram 1500 owners who think my "little truck is cute" but the first generation owners who think my truck is 'not a Honda Ridgeline' really is unusual.

As mentioned above, these comments are not unique to Ridgeline videos. I just watched the Fast Lane Truck comparison of the new Ford Raptor v the Ram Powerwagon. Both trucks that I would consider to be on the very far end of the "macho" spectrum.
A couple example comments:
"Powerwagon thanks. I prefer real trucks that don't come with vaporizers, white douche sunglasses, and male hair buns."
Another pointed out that the Raptor comes with a "thoughtful tampon dispenser in the centre console."
When the Ford Raptor is not "manly" enough for the YouTube commenters, you can reset your expectations of what to expect.
