Poll for 2017 owners with 500 plus Miles

The purpose of this thread is to give us an idea of the frequency and severity of any problems.

DO NOT vote on this thread unless you actually own a 2017 and until you have put more than 500 miles on it!

The idea is to give problems a little time to show up. In fact, I have another 100 miles to go on mine before I can vote!

NOTE that you can select multiple items on this poll if that applies.

It may take a few weeks for enough entries to tell us much, so be patient before drawing conclusions - we need lots of owners for a good sample. I hope that everyone who can will vote because otherwise we might skew results to only those with problems. I realize 500 miles is arbitrary but one has to pick some mileage and going to 1000 or 2000 might be more valid but would also take a long time (in my case up to 6 months) and prospective buyers and new owners need information ASAP.

Thanks!

I marked "minor" mechanical problems because the truck is functional as is. I've got 2000 miles on it now. For the record, I am dealing with the following:

1.) Post braking rocking (and/or wind-related rocking).
I believe that this will end up being called a result of the underlying design of the suspension/frame and that, unless you have an extreme case, something that we will all just complain about for the next 10+ years. I've adjusted my driving style and still notice it maybe once/twice a week. Unless it gets worse or is a safety issue, liveable to date.

2.) Delay in acceleration after turning a corner (especially right)
The delays that I have are not the two seconds mentioned elsewhere - but are typically 1/2 to 1 second in length. I am hoping that this one gets resolved eventually (aka mechanical defect) as I don't want to in a scenario where that delay costs me an accident. Right now, just something that I am trying to remember when driving.

3.) Wind Noise
I've heard two different noises. The most annoying is a high-pitched whine when running above 70 (71-76 range). That is very consistent and repeatable. The second noise is more of a soft rattle that I've heard three times. It will go on for several minutes and then stop. It appears to be on the driver's side, but behind me, externally. Too low to record on video and very infrequent. I'm just going to ask them to check to make sure that all of the parts underneath are correctly tightened when I finally get time to take the truck in.

Overall, I am very happy with the truck and have not had any issues that would prevent me from driving.

1600 miles and no issues other than always having to wash my BE because it's always getting dirty :D

Just passed 1000 miles and the only issue has been the drivers seat back cover which was promptly replaced by the dealer.
I checked "no problems" even though I have the brake-and-shake issue and the radio volume "stuck" once, but only once. I consider the brake-and-shake a design issue and not a factory defect, per se. I also have a faint, vehicle-speed-related high-pitched whine coming through the radio speakers around 50 MPH at times - a '15 CR-V I drove did this exact same thing. The front, left tire is also becoming a little noisy (a bit of roaring at highway speeds), but that's a Firestone issue.
I have yet to vote, I will once I exceed 500 miles (about 100 to go). I have seen two problems, both minor. The first was the tailgate, now fixed. The second may or may not have been the truck. I was using Android Auto yesterday and the screen went blank totally. I still could use the built-in screen functions but AA was blank and would not accept input. I unplugged the phone and replugged it and all was normal again so this may have been AA or it may have been the truck's AA interface - no way to tell. I do love AA however. I needed to go to the protection film aftermarket guy and I just said "navigate to (name of business)" and it found it and started the nav. Did nothing manually except push the steering wheel button once.
I voted "minor electrical" because my proximity sensors aren't working correctly. I'm sure they just need to be recalibrated. I haven't had time to take it in yet to have them looked at, so I just turned them off. Other than that, I have just over 2,000 miles and it has been doing great so far.
As I've noted elsewhere, with about 5,000 miles on my RTL-E I found very minor scratches on chrome behind one rear window (probably in transit issue, dealer agreed to buff out), a missing screw in one wheel well, and a very occasional problem of the car not starting, which has always resolved itself. (I'm not sure if this last is me not depressing the brake enough, two fobs "fighting" each other, or something else, but it always resolves itself.)

I marked these as, "no significant problems," because to me these are insignificant, even if #1 and #2 will require resolution by the dealer.

I have minor scuffs/scratches on the black plastic cladding above the wheel wells and rear bumper. Most people wouldn't notice. I took photos and showed it to the dealer just in case it bugs me to the point my OCD takes over. It was only at the dealer a few hours after being unloaded from the transport truck before I picked it up.

I think your missing screw was in the bottom of my trunk - I still haven't figured out where it goes and that has been bugging me since day one. :)

When you say your truck "doesn't start", does the starter engage and the motor turns over, but won't run -or- does it do absolutely nothing?

Interesting results so far. I do note that the two folks that have had system freakouts have not responded, but maybe they have under 500 miles so far.
I am one of the freakout victims. 2200 miles. Took the car into the dealer today and they couldn't fix it, so they gave me a loaner until they figure it out.

I've also had the tailgate sticking issue a few times, and the TuneIn Radio app suddenly disappeared from Apple CarPlay, and I cannot figure out how to get it back.
Bump, Bump, Bumpity, Bump.
Right there at 500 no issues. A little wind noise off my drivers side window while at highway speeds, but not sure an issue or not.

Sorry, I didn't notice your question. I'll give you my address and you can send me the screw. When I say doesn't start, I mean nothing happens. Radio turns on. Button lights up. Car doesn't turn over or even try. What I need to figure out next time this happens is if it is because I have my foot on the brake, but am just not depressing it enough. I wonder if it starts when I get frustrated and push harder, resolving my problem by accident.

What's the issue you had?

I noticed that if the vacuum in the brake booster bleeds off (either due to a leak or if you pump the brakes more than once or twice after shutting the engine off) resulting in a "stiff pedal", you have to push the brake pedal harder than normal before the switch that allows the engine to start will turn on.

What's the issue you had?
The "multi-purpose camera" failed, and they had to order a new one. They had my car for 3 days. While fixing the camera, it looks like they disconnected the stereo satellite speakers, so now I have to take it back.
My new blue 2017 RTL-T/FWD, which replaced my 2013 RT and that replaced my 2006 RTL, has performed without a hitch so far and I have 710 miles on it. I had a sticking tailgate problem, but it has since resolved itself, which I find a little odd, but it works great now. The only "problem" that I have encountered, like some of other folks on here, is the rocking motion at the end braking, but besides that, my other complaints(very minor) have to do with the design of the truck, not a defect. There are three, one is the sunglasses holder, the lack of an electronic parking brake and the front end design. Both pairs of my glasses don't fit well in the holder and consistently get hung up when opening. And I feel that given the price of the RTL-T, it should have electronic parking. Oh yeah, the front end could have been a bit more aggressive, but other than those first 2 items, I'm a very satisfied owner. Compared to the 2 other RT-1s I have had, this new one is polished and smooth. Love it.
