Quiet All-Seasons

Hi All,

I bought my truck with Cooper Discover R/T. I really don't like these tires, they are too noisy and don't do that well in the snow. They are very good in the mud and have been good at crashing into pot-holes and rocks on the logging roads.

Any recommendations for a good, quiet, all-season truck tire that's tough. I am thinking of getting a second dedicated set of snow tires so I don't care how well it does in the snow. I was thinking of the Michelin Defender or LTX M/S 2. I want tough so I don't get a flat out in the Logging roads and quiet.

Thanks, Jay

I replaced my stock Michelin's with Michelin Premier LTX last summer. I noticed as soon as I got on the freeway they were a lot quieter than the stockers (and the stockers weren't that noisy) and they are really good in the snow as well.
Nice! My Coopers are way too loud.
Although both sets of Michelins, my Stock which I ran from '05-'11 and my current set of Michelin Latitudes, from '11-thru today, all sounded great on day 1, and when changing from 6yr old tire to a new one were a noticeable improvement. But both have had severe cracking & the current set chunks are coming out, and so far where I purchased them has no intention of replacing them through Michelin.

So much so that this time, I'm considering Bridgestone - Dueler H/L 422 Ecopia (eco), also known as LRR Tires, or Low Rolling Resistance, as they are typically quieter, because the noise your hearing is the rolling resistance of the tires. From what I've read, they should be a good replacement for what I currently run. Have I looked at snow, rain & mud for them specifically. Nope, although we do have all those items occasionally here in the High Desert, and IIRC, having compared them to the Latitudes, they were quite similar.

YMMV

The Michelin Defender LTX M/S is a solid choice for a quiet tire that rides smooth and is tough. I have used the previous versions of the Michelin LTX M/S on several of my trucks with good results.

We would be happy to help you choose a tire that is right for your needs if you would like? Just send us a PM.

Just put on some cooper at3's and love them. So quiet when new. My brother says you can hear them when they get about 50% and lower but still quiet. But I am coming from KUMHO road venture M/T's. Which rattled the whole truck.

EDIT: Thought your title said all terrains. But I still love my AT3's.
You might want to look into a set of Yokohama Geolandar H/T 1 tires.

I installed a set on my '06, and they are the most quiet tires this truck has had. They are good in snow (although we haven't had much this Winter).

They are good in rain too.

I paid $644 balanced and installed.
