Rear Seat Head Rest

3803 Views 8 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Tex's Ridge
After 3 months, I just found another neat thing. The rear center seat head rest will pull up when needed! Anyway, in the stowed position, the rear view mirror has a better view. As a matter fact, since I will rarely have passengers in the back seats, I removed the other two and stowed them under the seat. :)

The rear head rests fit very nicely, back side down, on top of the spare. I put mine there and they haven't moved in 3,500 miles. They stay dry and clean as new. I wish they made all three like the center one.

I am continually amazed how little some salespeople know about the "innovative" features of our Ridgelines.

Fortunately the salesperson I dealt with knew he would be selling alot of Ridgelines and really read up on the features as well as read the owner's manual. Did the salesperson do a walk through with you when you purchased the vehicle or when you were looking at it?

Examples: Sliding armrest, "movable" center console, ambient light in the overhead console, remote roll down windows, center rear headrest, folding mirrors, bed mounting location for spare tire, sliding sun visors, etc., etc.

I purchased my ridgeline on Feb 26th. I was their first sale. The salesperson and I were both inspecting the truck to find all the innovative treasures.
Thanks for the advice re the rear seat head rests. Mine are now in the trunk and I can see much more. Honda should consider making all of the rear seat head rests like the one in the middle. :)
After 3 weeks, I happened to open the rear sliding door in the center console under the arm rest one evening and noticed there's a small light in there!! It lights up when the parking or headlights are turned on!! Cool
The height of the head rests is stipulated by FMVSS 202. All future new passenger vehicles must comply with this regulation. The center position is exempt form the regulation to accommodate rear visibility.
Is the Ridgeline considered a passenger vehicle in the eyes of the DOT? Not a truck? Or are trucks not exempt from this regulation?

I think a truck. Isn't that why we have to have combination plates/registration? How're you doing Shovelhd?
