I just went out and checked mine. It seems to be attached at the top and bottom but not to the windshield. It therefor does move a bit. I don't think it is a problem. Sounds like yours is installed properlyridged said:
Rearview Mirror Windshield Trim
This morning I proceeded to clean my replacement windshield for the first time since it was installed. I noticed that the trim for the rearview mirror is not very secure. This is the trim that covers, I assume, the wire for the compass. It runs from the top of the windshield to the base of the mirror bracket. It appears to be attached to something but it moves around more than I suspect it should. Will someone check and tell me if their mirror trim is loose or fastened securely? Thanks!
