I replaced the padded part of the arm rest in my 2010 recently, #19 in the diagram. You have to remove the door panel and the arm rest is fastened in from below with a lot of little fasteners. Several pieces. Here is the parts diagram from Bernardi parts. It's not hard, just tedious with getting access to all the bolts/screws under the arm rest. Don't force anything.

At least Honda made it so the armrests could be replaced separately from the door card - not the case for an older Subaru.
